    About this property

Beautiful 1 Bedroom Apartment Minutes to SFO in Victorian Home

Our 2-unit Victorian home and was built in 1906. The lower unit is a completely separate 1 bedroom apartment. We’ve done extensive work on the home and land. It is a double sized lot so half of the land is landscaped with waterfall and pond with fish, over 15 varieties of Hawaiian and Polynesian plants and an expansive yard. Please note because of the serious drought we have discontinued watering the lawn. It is a 2 unit home, we live above and Halekipa (the guest home) is on the first level. Our 1 bedroom apartment features Bamboo wood floors, carpet in the bedroom, full size washer and dryer in unit, updated appliances, queen size bed and pull out couch in living. It can fit 4. There are extra pillows, blankets, sheets and towels for you also. We also have a few things for children (boys and girls sleeping bags and a few games…still adding on to this. The home is equipped with High speed WIFI and Cable T.V. (Astound) as well. This property also dubs as the Kaululehua Hawaiian Cultural Center. You’ll notice a dance studio and library on the land as well. Once a week there are classes (dance) and once a month classes on cultural arts/crafts (weaving and lei making). Our home was awarded the Beautification award for South San Francisco in 2011 for the most beautiful Home in South San Francisco! We are located in downtown South San Francisco (SSF) all restaurants are walking distance (Starbucks, Pete’s, Subway, multiple Chinese and Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese , Korean, Italian, Argentinian, American, Japanese and more). There are a few grocery, liquor and drug stores within a block. Some of our favorite restaurants: For Breakfast – Cable Car Café (nothing fancy, just quick good ole fashioned breakfast), For Lunch - La Morena (best al pastor nachos, tacos and plates), For Dinner - Izanami (great specials, brand new and nice atmosphere. If you’ve never had See’s candy, the factory is down the street you might want to go in for samples ;-) Everything you could possibly need is within 1 mile (drug stores, department stores, chain restaurants etc..) Most people stay at our place go site seeing. There is 1 car parking designated for our guest but if you don’t drive bus is within 1 block, Train (Cal. Train) is 4 blocks, Bart is 10 blocks away. All of these can take you somewhere interesting. Downtown San Francisco is about 15 minutes by car. Besides San Francisco you should make time to explore our coast especially downtown Pacifica and cruise along famous highway 1 to visit downtown Half Moon Bay! We look forward to pleasant and friendly guests. We are easy going and expect our guests to be also. Our 2-unit Victorian home and was built in 1906. Wonderful Experience

We had a wonderful time here. The unit is beautiful, convenient to Grand Ave that has some great spots to eat and the communication with the property owner was very responsive and friendly!

      5/5 Excellent

        Comfortable apartment near SFO

The apartment was an inexpensive and quick UBER ride from SFO. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. As we did not have a rental car we needed to get a bus to the South San Francisco Bart in order to get to San Francisco downtown. The local shops had a good variety of restaurants and was an easy walk from the apartment.

        5/5 Excellent

Comfortable, well appointed apartment in SSF. Good location

We enjoyed our stay very much. The unit is well appointed and cozy. The shower is awesome and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Our daughter stayed one night and she said the sofa bed is terrible. But, they have a blow up bed too. So, if needed we suggest this option. Our only concern is the multitude of raccoons who greeted us a few nights. We have not seen these fellas for awhile. They are kind of scary. The kitchen has everything you need...cooking equipment, utensils, dishes and coffee pot. SSF has good food options...especially dim sum. We would definitely return.

          5/5 Excellent

Pretty, quiet, very well equipped, hosts accommodated request for early check in.

I took a class at the San Francisco Baking Institute, and this was very convenient and safe. I will highly recommend this apartment, and your very courteousand responsive service. The bed is extremely comfortable, the kitchen well equipped with the basics, and having a laundry in the apartment is terrific. Thank you, Kawika and Mo!

            4/5 Good

Very difficult to find, but nice once we got into the unit

We stayed in this unit for 4 days prior to going on a cruise out of San Francisco, and wanted to do some sightseeing. The owner sent us very specific directions, but, nothing is easy to find in South San Francisco, especially in the dark.. After driving around several blocks, we finally found the place, and got in with no problem. Parking was awkward with the car being on a slight slant with the drivers side down (the alley is one-way), and a large pole that I had to be very careful not to hit. This is undoubtedly a lovely place in nice weather, with a pleasant garden, but, in early December, not so much, cold and rainy. As far as the unit itself is concerned, the bed was comfortable, the couch was a little low for my liking, the kitchen and bathroom were adequate. There was a nice washer and dryer, with some detergent packs that we used before leaving, much appreciated. My only issues were, first, with the heating. This unit has only a space heater in the living room, which scares me to leave it on while sleeping. I admit this is my own personal phobia, but it seems like the unit was pretty cold unless sitting right in front of the heater. Again, in nicer weather, this would not be a problem. The other thing was that there were only 2 regular knives, although there were several sharp knives available, but not suitable for spreading butter. Overall, a very nice unit, I recommend it with just a couple of recommendations
