Upon arrival at the hotel the woman behind the desk was very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to leave our bags until check in so we could go and explore the town. Our room was on the ground floor and was very clean and spacious however we found it difficult to navigate our way through the sun beds to get to our door, especially when they were surrounded by peoples belongings. WiFi was pretty poor in the room, weak to no signal at all unless you went outside or into the lobby. Breakfast was nice, a buffet with plenty of choice but unfortunately no fresh juice or fruit. We ended up getting our fruit fix from a local greengrocer in the town. The town is beautiful with plenty of eateries only a short walk away.

Great hotel, with fantastic views
Hotel staff were always willing to help and were able to recommend a vineyard to visit for wine tasting and a tour of the cellars when the weather was not too good. Rooms were very clean and we were bed & breakfast only with a great choice of food for breakfast. Easy walking distance to Limone centre with plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

we came here for 4 nights after our wedding and it was the perfect choice. Great location to walk to the town and beach, and as it seemed to be mainly adults, it was peaceful by the pool. We had a room on the 2nd floor with lake view. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Hotel good location. Far enough away from centre so not too busy but excellent for lake and lovely stroll to centre. Good staff. Pool nice. Very clean. Breakfast adequate coffee from machine not very nice but had good choices of tea etc. Coffee from bar was good. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Don't know about half board option but we dined at hotel most nights and was fine; pizzas are fantasictio!

Hotel was pleasant and in a great location with wonderful views across lake Garda. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Don't bother with breakfast however as choice limited & not very appetising; its always a struggle to get a decent cup of tea in mainland Europe, but this was undrinkable!

Excellent views and location
We had a very relaxing 4 day break on the lake, hotel is in an excellent location with great views and just a few minutes walk to the ferry , shops and restaurants

Very nice hotel with good staff and an excellent restaurant. Room was clean and comfortable. Try and get a room on the first floor (Room 215 upwards) as you get a great balcony area. Restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Good location overlooking the lake and I had a great time. Would use the hotel again if in the area.

Nice hotel with fantastic lake & mountain views
We had 4 night break at Hotel Alexander in late October and got an upgrade to a "junior suite" - I suspect because it was very near the end of the season and the hotel had few guests. Nice big room, odd bathroom set up (shower cubicle and sink sited in main room, not in separate bathroom) but didn't really bother us. Fantastic views of Lake Garda and the Alps from bedroom's patio doors but the big downside was not having a private balcony - all the rooms opened onto a communal verandah, which meant you could not have the net curtains open, and as we had chain-smoking neighbours, we could rarely sit outside either! Total lack of privacy which was really not to our taste. Also, although the room was spacious with 2 double beds, they were the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in! The breakfast was also not great - the usual continental selection but small storm flies were in abundance and nothing was covered up - very unhygienic! Also, no choice of eggs, just scrambled which were bizarrely offered up on individual plates and were only luke warm. Also, if you were early to breakfast, the cook did not bother to cook any eggs until more people appeared. But overall a nice hotel, very clean rooms and very handy to walk down into Limone.

Fantastic view of Lake Garda
My sister and I spent a week at the Hotel Alexander in Limone, our hotel room was spotless and we had a stunning view of the amazing lake and mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful, a massive thank you to the hotel receptionist Deborah, who couldn't do enough for us. Hotel breakfast was good and the restaurant next door offered a good choice of dishes, we ate there on several occasions and had a really nice meal, the restaurant staff were also very friendly. The Hotel pool was cold but very refreshing when temperatures got hot, there was a good space around the pool for sun loungers, and we took advantage of these on hot days to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The hotel was about a five min walk from the beautiful town where you can explore the winding streets and take in the beautiful scenery. We also took a boat across the lake to Malcesine, that takes around 30 mins, we had a good day out and it was nice to see another part of the lake. I would definitely return to Lake Garda and would like to explore the other towns around the lake. We had an amazing week and a relaxing time, the views were fantastic the people were friendly and the food was good.

Limited times of air con available in the room was frustrating and inefficient. The service and ambience was nice, but in places the facilities appeared worn and dated. The food was good, breakfast needed increased protection from the small, pretty birds who helped themselves from the loaf and rolls upon the self service table. The location was perfect for lake swimming, access to the village and transport links; not to mention the breath taking views from your bedroom and all around you. Lovely.

Pretty hotel in good location
Very relaxing and easy holiday. Plenty to see and do in Limone. There were regular boats sailing to other locations thoughout the day. Excellent sailing, windsurfing and paragliding available if you want more of an adventure. Cable car trip was also very good.

Very comfortable hotel in a good location.
My partner and I were very happy with this hotel. The room was comfortable, modern and spacious. We stayed on a b & b basis and found plenty of choice for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk from the hotel was a landing point for the ferry, and a few hundred yards further on was the first of many restaurants. For us the Alexander was the perfect hotel.

Lovely hotel and excellent location.
I would recommend this hotel. The room was clean and modern. Breakfast was nice with plenty of choice. The pool was extremely cold! All staff were pleasant and helpful. The only downside was the expensive transfer to the hotel from the airport.

A short stroll to the centre of Limone. Buffet breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. Rooms are clean and of a good size, a little dated but fine. Reception was also very helpful and friendly. Food in the restuarant was ok. 13 euro set meal in the evening was good value for money.

Great hotel for what we paid. Disappointed the air con only runs in July and August and that the pictures don't show just how overlooked the hotel and its pool are. However you are right by the lake and limone town so definitely reccomend.

We loved the location - it had lovely views but was away from the noise of tourists. The restaurant was fabulous, we enjoyed everything we ate there and it was great value for money. The 'free wi-fi' reception didn't extend to as far as our room( #120) which was a disappointment and we had to sit in the lobby to get anything done. If you are ever booked into room #102 (as we were before requesting to be moved), request to be moved immediately as that too is right next to the kitchens and you get all the noise. Also, if you're larger than average (say, a size 14), the showers will be uncomfortably small). Overalll, our experience was a good one.

Lovely location , helpful staff. Enjoyed el pirate restaurant, excellent service! Asked for and paid for superior lake view room but as we were on the first flier that view was limited. I was a bit disappointed in that respect plus our balcony was in the shade when we wanted to sit on it in late evening ! I'd informed the hotel on booking that this was a birthday surprise for my husband and hoped to get a better view! Despite the initial disappointment the location was excellent within a lovely peaceful walk into the centre of limone which was beautiful with quaint streets and restaurants right beside the lake. Fabulous place! Visit to malscine and monte baldo by boat and cable car another must do!! Loved all the eastern side plus down to limone on the west. Definitely the best places on lake Garda :)

Went there for my husband 35th They didn't make us feel particularly welcome Didn't tell us about a charge for hiring robes& slippers for spa Wouldn't turn on air conditioning& insist that I should open window which I explained u don't want to as there's lots of mosquitos- she says ' oh it's just rained so it wouldn't be any- it's October as we can't turn on air conditioning!' Both myself& hubby were bitten more than 10times that night -- more than a nightmare than a 4* hotel break sadly~~

Enjoyable stay at Hotel Alexander
The hotel was in an excellent position - a short walk from the main centre, beach and water sports facilities. Our superior room was really spacious and comfortable with a terrace opening onto a green area which had lounge beds. The staff (particularly the bar/restaurant staff) were brilliant with nothing being too much trouble. The hotel has a pool with space to sit outside and we made full use of the turkish bath and sauna facilities.

Air condition disturbance
We had a nice time in lemone very beautifull location. Hotel was located perfectly with a short walk to restaurants and promenade areas by the lake. Only problem with the hotel was that they stopped the air condition to all rooms at set times some times in the middle of the night, to save energy. This resulted in that we woke up at 3 am in the morning in a very warm room with no air. When calling down to the reception they started up the air condition again, but this is obviously not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. After our first night we had a number of talks to the front office staff, which rested in that our air condition was on during the entire last night...

A great place to stay!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was ready when we arrived, and was large enough for 3 people. The bed covers where, well, strange. They only offered twin size bedding, so if you're sleeping two to a bed, there is no need to share the bed covers, as you each get your own. Like I said, strange, but not unmanageable. They also did NOT offer hypoallergenic bedding, as the website indicated. We had one in the party wake up congested from the feathers. The location was great. Walking distance to the beach, shops, and ferry or boat docks. The parking seemed to be ample and easy to access. Although the staircase and elevator both fail to provide directions to the lobby - eventually you find your way. The breakfast was so-so, standard european fare. The bathroom was a little dated, I'd compare it to grandma's house, clean but the decor is from a decade past. All in all, great stay. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a good position close to the lake shore, and just a short stroll from the harbour, shops and restaurants. Limone is one of the nicest villages around the lake.

We were so happy with our choice of hotel with the Hotel Alexander! The staff were very pleasant, spoke excellent English, although we tried our best to speak Italian! The breakfast was more than sufficient although some fresh fruit would have been welcomed! The food in the Pizzeria was fabulous as was the service. we wouldn't hesitate to recommend and would certainly return for a future stay. Thank you! Best wishes David & Helen Ciao for now x
