With the doors and windows open, yes, there is quite a bit of freeway/city noise, but with the doors and windows closed at night, you could barely hear it and you could easily get an undisturbed good nights sleep. We knew it was a duplex, so knew it would be on the small side. We stayed for our son's boot camp graduation and we could see the base from our room. Close enough we could have walked to the base or the airport if we wanted to. Owner was very good at communicating- always got back to us right away and made sure we were happy with everything.
