I did not meet a courteous staff member. Check-in took a long time. The common areas were dirty. Valet took forever to retrieve the car. The food at breakfast was unappealing to the five of us. On a side note, we booked two rooms. The first time i entered my credit card information and i thought we secured the rooms. Expedia's system didn’t take the request so I immediately selected the rooms again for $400 additional. This hotel is not worth the amount we ultimately paid.

Beautiful Hotel, Restroom needs an overhaul tile was dirty. We have always stayed at this hotel durning fiesta, staff was friendly and professional. Hotel restrooms need to be redone, otherwise great place to stay! Sorry, I never complain but I rather them make upgrades so their guest can be happy!!

Centrally located for Riverwalk activities. We had a corner/river view room so we could see multiple areas of the river. We were there for Fiesta and they had an excellent Mariachi band playing. Friendly staff and fast check in and out. Early and late pool hours. Kuerig coffee machine and bottled water provided as well as a refrigerator. Must have room key to use elevators making it more secure. About $25 to and from airport with Taxi or Uber and we had no wait.

The Hotel Contessa is a fantastic hotel. Located right on the riverwalk and very close to all the attractions in downtown San Antonio. The staff if very attentive and there is a restaurant and bar located in the hotel. One sever Francisco always went above and beyond every time I ate breakfast there. Overall, a fantastic hotel!

This recently remodeled hotel is a hidden gem on the San Antonio Riverwalk. We are locals and have stayed at several hotels on the Riverwalk. We just stayed for a week and this hotel really stands out for the following reasons: (1) the rooms look brand new and are tastefully decorated, (2) the hotel is on the quiet side of the loop which makes for quieter evenings (unlike many of the hotels), the employees are very friendly and accommodating, (4) guest services takes service requests seriously and resolved two minor maintenance issues for us immediately, (5) the pool is very nice with plenty of chairs and lounges available for all ( plus incredible views!), and (6) the hotel is very generous and does not charge for bottled water in the rooms, couches and beds in the pool area, etc. We were able to afford a large suite at for the price of a regular room at competing hotels. We will plan to stay here again next year!

The suite rooms are terrific. The spa was great and access to pool and hot tub made for a great combination. Location on the river, a restaurant with reasonable prices made this property a winner.

Everything was great and beautiful at Contessa. The only thing that I was not expecting was the bill I received on my check out for Amenity fee. When asked they mentioned for the pool, wifi, house keeping and etc. That is a bit weird. Are't we pay for this already?

We got a room with a view. Which was excellent. We enjoyed the patio area. Most of the staff was excellent. What we didn't like was the dining. When we received our food it was cold, not just once. They seat you and take your order and forget you. Parking is valet and they were very nice and helpful. Parking costs $49 a day.

Friendly staff. Comfortable beds and large suite room. Amazing rooftop pool and spa. Great onsite dining and riverwalk access off the bar patio. We had a grest time and almost everything was within walking distance.

Overall a nice building and the room was spacious, however the problem we had was with the bathroom. The towel bar fell off the wall, no pressure was added as it was on the floor when we checked in. There was writing in the wall by the toilet, the glass to the shower has calcium stubs all over, the lining around the window had mold, and we received a couple towels that appeared to be dirty. The room and living room were nice and comfortable. Overall I wouldn’t stay again but it’s convenient and made our stay easy.

Fantastic hotel on a quieter part of the riverwalk, but close enough to walk to any area. Room was great. Rooftop pool was also very nice. Check in was fast.

Beautiful hotel. The only thing I would say is housekeeping should be daily, and if you do set it up for daily, they only set the bed and didn’t do any other cleaning. You’re paying a nice fee each night so having a clean room each day is something I look forward to.

I specifically hated that I had to pay $150.00 per dog, per stay! Not a deposit but an actual fee. I paid more for the dogs than I did for the hotel room. No mention of this outrageous charge in the reservation process (of course not)! I’ll never - ever stay here agin.

The staff entering the Contessa are very polite and helpful. The staff at the desk are sometimes not as friendly. It would be nice to have them either tell you or hand something out about the events at the Contessa ( I.e. happy hour, mariachis, etc.). Also would be nice to have some free amenities such as coffee (although every so often we did get free liquids at the bar which was nice). The amenity add on fees at the end of your stay? We didn’t use wi-fi or the pool so they should not apply to everyone. Overall though our stays at the contessa have been really nice. We love the location. Thanks.
