An excellent hotel for a quiet stay
The hotel is very comfortable. We enjoyed an excellent afternoon tea plus an excellent breakfast the next morning. The grounds are well kept and there are plenty of places to sit out, weather permitting. The staff were very helpful and efficient.It is also not far from lovely scenery: moors and coast

Perfect peaceful stay
We loved this hotel. The check in was friendly and efficient. The bags were taken to the room as we were shown to it. The room was clean, big spacious and in very good condition. The bar has a full size snooker table which was an excellent way to spend some time in the evening. The hotel is so quiet at night, we had a very restful night. The breakfast was delicious, a choice of a full English or components of. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful old country manor
The hotel is situated in beautiful surrounds, if a little out of the way, but that's what most people go here for I guess - tranquillity. We stayed as part of a weekend trip to nearby Whitby (20-25 minute drive) and Staithes (5-10 minute drive). Room got a little warm as there's no A/C and it was the hottest day of the year but still managed to sleep alright in what was a very comfy bed. Check-in and out process was seamless.
