It was okay.

Posted 11-Jan-2017
Pros: Location was good for us, it was reasonably clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: Breakfast options (how about two kinds of fruit?), phone skills, and don't bother giving a group rate if it's $50 higher than sites like this.
Location: It's on the highway, but it's in town and there's a grocery store, pub and gas station close by.
Front desk service was friendly but a bit uneven, probably the result of either inexperience or inadequate support from management (e.g. the front desk person also seemed to be the housekeeping person). The continental breakfast was really lame, best to get it elsewhere or bring your own. OveraIl, I get that it's a budget operation, but they seemed to be running it a bit too lean in my opinion. Been to other Motel 8s I've liked much better.

Terrible noisy heaters

Posted 09-Jan-2017
Cons: Replace the old heaters in the rooms.
We could hardly sleep because the old wall-mounted heater in the room was so loud. It rattled, squealed and hummed at varying frequencies all night.

pretty new with reasonable price

Posted 31-Dec-2016
Pros: good breakfast choices and tv for news.
Cons: use electric heater instead of a/c unit to avoid noise at night
Location: very convenient to gas, restaurants nearby and its right on the highway access.
i like the large flat tv with lots of channel cable to watch, except the a/c and heating is a little noisy.

Nice hotel but heating an issue

Posted 23-Dec-2016
Pros: The staff is friendly and accomodating.
Cons: Yes,if you are going to cut back on costs don't do it with the heating. Even the staff had their coats on. The temperature outside was -27C and lobby
Hallway temperature was set at 12.5c which was chilly. the entrance, lobby and check in had no heat at all. If you are going to cut costs this is not the way to do it.

Basic Overnight

Posted 28-Oct-2016
Pros: Basic and clean.
Cons: The price is higher than it should be.
It provided everything we needed for one overnight stay. I'm sorry to say but the waffles were like edible glue and not worth the time to peel off the grill.

Truly smelly and disgusting.

Posted 18-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Will never stay in a Super 8 again. On check in we were told that the room was booked through a third party so they had nothing to do with it, just gave us the room we had paid for. They took at $200 deposit cc imprint. The room (204) smelled disgusting. Like wet dog or wet dish rag. I couldn't find the source (eg towels, shower curtain) and think it's probably mold or mildew under the bathroom floor, as mold is evident along the bath/floor join. We had to sleep with the window open and fan on, then froze. The breakfast was awful. 3 yogurts in the fridge, an empty roll of kitchen towel and coffee that was so weak it was like brown water. Really disgusting, awful place to stay. It was not even cheap.
