Worst hotel I have ever stayed

Posted 22-May-2017
It was a very bad experience . I went to hotel around 245 pm and there was no one on the desk. Upon calling the person replied wait till 3 and she will be there. There wee other 10 people were waiting as well. At 3pm I and others people were told that room is not available as cleaning crew is working and I should check availability after an hour . Everyone was told the same answer . I went back after an hour but was told room is not still available and upon showing my disappointment I was told that I may get out and can go and find another hotel as hotel management is doing there best. There were another 10 people who received the same answer as well. The lady at reception was so rude and rather than appalojoising was threatening the customers to leave the hotel. I arranged 3 rooms in the his hotel and we were 12 people in my group and I was so ashamed and helpless that I thought of calling the police to resolve the issues. At 6 15 pm I came back and was told to pay another 60$ extra and 600$ security deposit also. I told them I was paid all the charges already but she told me that Expedia vis an American website which sucks and does not tell the customers everything and if I want to stay in the hotel I have to follow the instructions or I should get out. I was so much disappointed but did not have another option left but to pay whatever she was asking. After paying extra money and deposit once I entered the room I found there were double beds not Queen for which I had paid.

Very Outdated

Posted 15-May-2017
This hotel is in need of a renovation. Our key card quit working after the first day.. we were checked in for 2 days. Went down to the front desk and no one was there. Had to find a room cleaner to let us in. Apparently this happens on a regular Basis as keys are only programmed for one day. Continental breakfast lacks fresh fruit and had ants crawling on counter. Beds were uncomfortable and rooms are small and cramped.

Don't let the other reviews scare you!

Cons: Breakfast - hoemmade waffles are great! But it could use some fruit and maybe some hard boiled eggs or something. Better tasting juice/coffee too
I was in for 5 nights for the U16 BC Cup. This is a super clean and very well priced motel. It is an older building...but it is super clean. GREAT location if you are there for hockey too - the rink and Tim Hortons is right across the highway, McDonald's to one side, Pub right behind, gas station and gorgeous new grocery store on the other side. I would absolutely recommend this motel to any of my friends needing to stay a night in Salmon Arm

Relaxing stay in Salmon Arm with friendly people

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: The staff were welcoming and helpful. It is easy to access and find.
Location: We were in town for our daughter's graduation. It was a great location for us. You can access lots of fun things in town. Lots of good eating spots
The front desk and cleaning staff were friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast was great. Maybe in season some fresh fruit would be nice. We had a great sleep, and a relaxing time at the Super 8. They give a discount for the Home Restaurant which is a great place to eat - very home-like. The semi truck jack braking at 2am was not nice but this is not the Super 8's doing. :) Thanks for a nice time.

Rude, unhelpful staff.

Posted 15-Apr-2017
Pros: The location right off the highway was good.
Cons: Better service.
This hotel had very rude staff. They constantly said "No" to our requests for service after they gave us the run around and told us to call various numbers. The place was unclean and had dustballs in the corners and stains on the sheets. I will never stay in a Super 8 again. I guess no staff wants to put themselves out for earning $10 per hour, but the management should give the front desk staff some ability to use discretion in granting basic requests.

Budget hotel

Posted 26-Mar-2017
The staff are friendly. However the bed is uncomfortable, there was a perfumed odour in the room but the bathroom was clean. It's a budget hotel and you get what you pay for, don't expect much, but it's not terrible.

It's a place to lay your head

Posted 08-Mar-2017
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was nice (waffle maker, a few cereals, yogurt, apples, toast). The location was convenient to our purpose of being there.
Cons: I know that housecleaning is a hard job, but the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved.
Location: Location was great for our purpose of the trip. Lots of food options around too.
It was one of those "it's a place to lay your head" type of hotels. It wasn't all that clean (still dirt on the carpet in the room, bathtub had some dirt in it, dust and other things had collected in between bed and side table and desks); the hotel was older and didn't seem to be renovated/updated in a while, so it didn't feel very inviting; the room amenities (coffee, shampoo, etc.) weren't refreshed after the first night of us staying there. The staff seemed somewhat friendly and the breakfast in the morning was fine. You received a discount at the nearby restaurant, which was a nice perk as well. If you're passing by, this is an inexpensive place to stay, but if you are looking for more of a hotel experience, this probably isn't a good one for that.

It was okay.

Posted 11-Jan-2017
Pros: Location was good for us, it was reasonably clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: Breakfast options (how about two kinds of fruit?), phone skills, and don't bother giving a group rate if it's $50 higher than sites like this.
Location: It's on the highway, but it's in town and there's a grocery store, pub and gas station close by.
Front desk service was friendly but a bit uneven, probably the result of either inexperience or inadequate support from management (e.g. the front desk person also seemed to be the housekeeping person). The continental breakfast was really lame, best to get it elsewhere or bring your own. OveraIl, I get that it's a budget operation, but they seemed to be running it a bit too lean in my opinion. Been to other Motel 8s I've liked much better.
