The garden, surrounded by a wall of bricks, was part of an old orchard which keeps perfumes and atmospheres. Remains protected and hidden by the surrounding buildings but, coming out of the gate, the visitor finds himself in the heart of the city, with shops, restaurants, markets and all the best that provides the city of Salerno. The apartment maintains the structure and finishes original and, even where it had to step in to replace implants, have been used traditional materials Salernitana, such as hand-painted ceramics from Vietri. The old blends with the modern and conveys an atmosphere of yesteryear. The house consists of an entrance hall, a corridor leading to two double bedrooms, a large living room with dining area and living room, a kitchen with all the equipment (dishwasher, oven, stove, set of dishes and cookware ) and a bathroom with shower. The living room leads to the terrace and garden. The apartment also has WiFi, heating, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, washing machine, television, hairdryer. It 'also a small library with books in Italian and in English. A large, comfortable, elegant Italian apartment with a beautiful and spacious outdoor garden for sitting and dining. Anna was a lovely, responsive host who even gifted us with some delicious local mozzarella for easter. The apartment is well located near the train station, ferries and market and it was great to have private parking in the city. Communication with Anna could not have been better, and she was so helpful throughout the process (e.g. when we had to change our booking slightly). She was always available to answer questions. The accommodation itself was spacious (we were a family of 5), clean, and had everything you could need, including a fabulous garden space. it's located in the middle of Salerno - a fantastic city itself, and also brilliantly located for exploring the wider region. We used Salerno as a base to visit Amalfi Coast and were not disappointed. Quick 10 minute walk from train station and we were personally met by an agent who showed us around the apartment. It is huge and the back terrace which is private is also very large and beautiful. It’s a great place to let little ones run around or for an evening glass of wine. The rooms are nice sizes and the living room is very large. It’s short walking distance to shops, restaurants, and cafes. 5 minute walk to the sea. It was also very clean and well appointed with anything you might need. The washing machine was a great benefit. While the apartment feels like an oasis, you have cafes and restaurants and the busting city just a few steps away. We were greeted warmly and in person and given an orientation to the apartment as well as a list of local restaurant recommendations. And yes, that entire garden with citrus orchard is private and all yours! The apartment feels larger than the square footage. For 2 people, it seemed sprawling. I think it would work very well for a small family or 4 adults. While it appears to be an old charming building, the modern updates were great: excellent shower/pumbing and air conditioning were worked very well for such a large space. There are 2 grocery stores within minutes walk of the appartment. We could not have been happier with this! Anna and Monica were really helpful. The appartment is spacious and super clean. We had a wonderful time! I would however recommend fixing the back door to the garden as it made an awful noise each time it was opened. We also could not access the parking area but since we did not have a car it was not an issue. Die Matratzen sind alt, das Schlafsofa etwas unbequem und die Küche für die Selbstversorgung von sechs Personen nur teilweise ausgestattet. Die Geräte (Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine) sind alt und ungepflegt, Staubsauger und Reinigungsutensilien fehlen. Der Versuch der Eigentümerin, wenigstens Sitzauflagen für die Eisenstühle zu beschaffen, misslang. In die Wohnung wurde ersichtlich schon lange nicht mehr investiert, was sehr schade ist. ##### Jonathan F. Vorweg: Wir haben den idealen Ort gefunden! Die Wohnung liegt im modernen Stadtteil von Salerno mit allen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in unmittelbarer Umgebung. Die Altstadt ist zu Fuss in 10 Minuten zu erreichen. Die Wohnung ist in einem in den 50er Jahren erstelltem Wohnhaus (ca. 20 Wohnungen) mit hoher Qualität. Das sehr geräumige Appartement, ausgebaut im Stile der 50 Jahre, mit einer Geschosshöhe von 3 Metern und in allen Zimmern unterschiedliche schöne Steinböden, hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Der grosse Garten mit Zitronenbäumen ist im Innenhof und vom geschäftigen Quartier völlig abgekoppelt und zur alleinigen Benutzung. Das Auto stellt man direkt in den privaten Garten, welcher mit Tor verschlossen ist. Wir haben auch oft zu Hause gekocht und alles Nötige dazu vorgefunden. Abwaschmaschine und Waschmaschine waren sehr nützlich. Vielen Dank Anna für den stehts liebevollen Umgang. Wir konnten Dich immer erreichen und alles Fragen. Du hast uns optimal betreut. Wir hatten in Salerno eine wunderbare Zeit, und dass auch dank dieser Oase mitten in der Stadt. Wir hatten uns von der ersten Minute an wie zu Hause gefühlt. Wir werden wieder kommen. Vi bodde 6 vuxna och 4 barn i en vecka och det fanns gott om plats för alla. Välutrustat kök, stort badrum, jättestort vardagsrum med gott om sittplatser till alla och ett stort matrumsbord. Mycket charmig "old fashioned" stil på lägenheten, men med moderna hjälpmedel. Mycket rent och snyggt vid ankomsten. Nära till shopping, stort utbud av caféer, barer, restauranger och en fin strandpromenad. Vi vill gärna rekommendera MammaRosa i närheten, en klassisk italiensk lunchrestaurang med bra mat och service. Utmärkt utgångsläge för utflykter till Amalfikustens pärlor med buss eller båt, vi åkte till Amalfi och Positano. Värdparet var enormt hjälpsamma såväl före som under vår vistelse, dom svarade direkt på alla våra frågor och gjorde även en stor insats för att hitta en resväska som kommit bort på flyget. We enjoyed staying in this extremely spacious and rather splendid elegant older-style apartment complete with all modern conveniences. The enormous terrace & garden were a great pleasure as they were for our sole use, and after having had our car broken into further south we were grateful for the secure off-street parking. The apartment is extremely private and secure despite being right in the centre of town; we could look out from the windows on to the bustling city street full of fashion shops and cafes, with orange trees lining the footpaths. It is also a very short distance from the promenade along the beachfront and the pier from which the ferries depart for the Amalfi coast. We stayed at OS Garden in Salerno from June 19 through 21 and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. Great location, spacious apartment, helpful and gracious hosts.
