"A truly first class hotel"
The hotel is truly first class, in every respect. The rooms are beautiful, functional, well supplied, spotlessly clean, perfectly insulated with inner door - so not even a sound from the halls, with excellent temperature control and windows that open, should one wish. The breakfast is supplied with a wide variety of food from seasonal fresh fruit, through the full range of cereals, breads, cold meats, excellent cheeses and even, regional specialities, such as blood sausage. There are good eggs and bacon, prepared by a chef, at your request, in the breakfast room. To finish, there is a wonderful range of pastries, to be enjoyed with Spanish coffee or Nespresso, as you prefer. If there is any negative, it is that the hotel is on the south bank of the river and so not easily accessible from the city, by foot (a 25 to 30 minute walk). On the other hand, there is a wonderful view of the city from the bedrooms and as there is good, well located public parking in the city, driving is easy. We would return to Salamanca, just to stay in this hotel and, likely, will, as the city is well worth more than one visit.
