It's a bit far away from the subway exit than I expected.

A OK spacious hotel close to Sakae station

Posted 21-Apr-2017
Pros: Nice and helpful staff Good breakfast buffet Close to Sakae subway Airport limousine bus station right at the doorsteps. Spacious Room Free Wifi
Cons: Signs of wear and tear especially the bathroom Sloppy housekeeping
Location: 5 minutes away from Oasis 21 and Sakae Subway station 5 minutes away from Aichi Pref Arts Center. 10 minutes away from major department stores.
In general, it is a nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staffs. Rooms are spacious for family of 4 with 2 young kids. Sakae subway station (Exit 12) is just 5 minutes walk away and you can walk to major department stores and Oasis 21 within 10 minutes. They've got a Airport limousine bus station right at their doorsteps, which makes it very convenient for travelers with heavy luggage or kids/elderly. Breakfast buffet is very good with nice choices of foods and tastes good. In general, the room is pretty clean. However, it shows signs of wear (especially the bathroom) and a major renovation is obviously due. Housekeeping staffs are a little bit sloppy. They managed to miss refilling the complimentary bottled water every single day and I need to call the front desk for resupply in the evening when I returned. Then, on the second day, they did not change the used glasses and cup and refilling the tea bags. This is something really surprised me with a hotel in this class and price range.

Best value for the money in Japan

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: Very nice hotel for great price
For the money, a much better value than the Marriott which is nearly twice the price.

Room upgrade made it better..

Posted 20-Feb-2017
Hotel is not easy to get to if you have a lot of luggage. Had to take a cab and it cost about ¥1,200 from the station. But, once there, easy walk to Sakae. Starbucks just down the road. Staff were amazing. Very polite and helpful. First night, noise in the pipes (or something) kept me up so I requested to be moved. They did so without any problem. New room was an upgrade for sure...same size, but MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS. This is practically unheard of in Japan. So nice to finally have a soft mattress. You can hear a lot from the outside even on the 15th floor with the window closed. So, that was a bit annoying at night. Gym was my biggest disappointment. I only book hotels with gyms. This one has a gym...but you have to pay ¥3,200 per use!!!! I don't think so. This was not clear in the advertising or I would have booked my usual hotel at the station and paid extra.
