What a beautiful location, even if very difficult to find!
The property looked nice, but the cleanliness everywhere is a challenge.
The pool was great, the amenities good.
The lack of luggage assistance was utterly disturbing!
The wifi was neither wi nor fi.
But the suite was worth it and spacious.
Overall - with care for detail on the management site, this place could be really special as the locations that!

Hotel was more unusual than most, with tasteful decoration and art. However it didn't meet our expectations for the cost of the hotel. Service was OK, but not exceptional. Good location and not over crowded with only 7 rooms.
The hotel was beautiful, with spectacular grounds. We were very pleased. Breakfast was very good, although expensive. We had dinner one night, and it was excellent - and a splurge.
The only sour note was that we had reserved an upgraded room with a sitting area. Upon arrival, we were given a smaller room with no sitting area. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, I was told that the change had occurred at the last minute, and since they were sold out, we couldn't be moved. I was displeased that this had never been brought to our attention, and asked whether there would be a reduced rate for the smaller accommodation, and was told that there would not be a reduced price, and that our room "was very nice." When I indicated that was not an adequate response, I was connected to Audrey in Concierge Service. She offered to move us to the room we'd reserved on the following night or to give us a lower rate for the room that we'd been given, and she was very nice. We chose to keep our room at the reduced rate. While we were satisfied with the resolution, we were not pleased with the initial handling.
Otherwise, the accommodations and service were very nice.

"Gorgeous small Hotel (14 rooms) on a steep incline"
The cooked part of the self-service buffet-breakfast could be improved: watery, scrambled-eggs & fatty, undercooked, bacon that nobody we saw choose. Otherwise, the buffet was excellent. Rooms could be improved with a tea-&-coffee-facility, a mens' trouser-press & an iron + board for ladies. There was fresh fruit on arrival but no knife or plates to use with it, & no complimentary water. Oversights which can be easily rectified.
The staff were charming, helpful, & knowledgeable throughout. The Hotel does not offer dinner & it is a tortuous route to the town, which needs transport. A list of recommended restaurants & an offer to book-in-advance would be helpful, as the best restaurant in the town was booked fully 3-weeks ahead, making reservations impossible.

Writers and artists still flock to St-Paul-de-Vence, a dazzling example of a 'village perché', restored with great care and taste. Many patronise the famous inn known as the Colombe d'Or (now an exclusive hotel). Handsome stone buildings crown a high ridge within its 16th-century ramparts, giving wonderful views over russet rooftops and cypresses. The Maeght Foundation just outside the village houses an impressive collection of 20th-century art.
