Some fifteen kilometers south of Toulon, it helps to define the harbor. Originally made up of islets, it became a single island in the Middle Ages, l'île de Sépet, before being attached to the mainland in the 17th century. Once a farming town, it has now become a tourist destination, with a marina and a well-preserved coastline, where beaches and pine forests are popular.
