Staying at Hotel Des Balances in Lucerne was an absolute delight. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by its charming atmosphere and warm hospitality. The view of the Reuss River and the iconic Kapellbrücke from my room was simply breathtaking. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable, and the attention to detail in the elegant décor was impressive. Dining at the hotel’s restaurant was a culinary experience I won’t soon forget, with delicious dishes served in a picturesque setting (Michelin star). Overall, my time at Hotel Des Balances nothing short of magical and looking forward to returning.

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in! Really made us love Lucerne right off the bat. If you can get a room with a river facing view- you need to! Could’ve spent all day on the balcony.

We loved our stay at Hotel Des Balances. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Old Town Lucerne with an incredible view of the water. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely make this hotel our home base anytime we return to Lucerne.

We have a wonderful stay at Des Balances hotel. Room is very clean, a lot of fine little touch & complimentary from the hotel. Location is prime. Service is 5 stars & the view is stunning that to give another star! Thank you & we highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visiting Lucern.

Super location and view
By the river, in the heart of old town, super location. Pretty building. Nice toiletries, good coffee and tea supplies. Beautiful view from room balcony. Lack of counter space in bathroom.

Loved our stay at hotel des balances, the location is fabulous yet quiet. The hotel is excellent but for the price point I had expected a slightly larger room, newer bathroom (not a shower/tub combo) and a fitness facility.

Hotel Des Balances is an excellent hotel. We had a room with a terrace where we enjoyed a beautiful view of the river and the iconic bridge, the blue lake, the mountains and of course the city. The hotel restaurant was very good. The room was clean, the staff were very accommodating. We felt safe getting lost in this beautiful city. We’ll stay here again when we go back to Lucerne. Thank you!

The experience of the hotel and the location was beautiful. I felt I was living in a postcard! I booked the double room and it was perfect. The food at hotel was spectacular. The bed in the double room was a king and there was plenty of room to walk and not bump into a piece of furniture. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing location, service, and cleanliness
We stayed in a room overlooking the river. Room was small (as expected), however they made great use of the space. Beautifully decorated with heaps of storage. Room was super clean, as was the hotel in general. Top notch professional service. Only downside is expensive food, but this is a top quality restaurant and the entire area is expensive as well.

Was a great stay. There isnt really any nightlife in this area (not the hotel’s fault). So if looking for just a nice place to stay around great views, shopping, and restaurants this is a great location. Also close to train station which is very convenient!

This place is amazing and in the heart of everything! The view we had will live rent free in my mind for the rest of my life. If you are staying in Lucern….treat yourself and stay here. The staff is lovely and the property cannot be topped. If you are driving in…deep breaths…you can drive to the door follow your gps or call the front desk and they will guide you in. Pay for the overnight parking…it’s worth it.

Although our room was on the small side, the balcony more than made up for it. Location is very good with lots of shopping and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Luzern and we absolutely loved it! We had a room with a balcony and view of the river -- it was stunning! The location of the hotel is convenient and easy to get to any restaurant, stores for shopping, and was nearby a Coop which is a hybrid grocery/department store that became handy to have close by. Furthermore, the front desk staff was helpful when I asked for recommendations for lunch and dinner. The hotel is also about an 8-10 minute walk from the train station in Luzern which was convenient. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would recommend staying here to anyone. We will likely come back!

Excellent hotel with friendly staff and very accommodating. We had breakfast and dinner at hotel and all meals were great. It is a pricey hotel but you can’t beat the location and views. We would consider staying here again.

Great location. Staff is very helpful. Rooms are small but manageable. They could not provide room until 1:30PM as we arrived around 9:30 but I am sure someone must have checkout early in morning. Overall fair as the location is great.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel des Balances. Right by the river and Old Town and close to many great sights and restaurants. We loved hanging out in the terrace for drinks with a beautiful view. Great staff, cool rooms during warm weather, and very clean. The tub was a little high for my wife but otherwise everything was excellent. Would definitely stay there again.
