Definitely has seen better days but it's a very convenient location for the ski resorts. Good service (we had to change rooms as our door knob fell off!) and the restaurant / bar there is solid. But for the price, everything was a little dated, beaten up, and low value (towels were like sandpaper).

I booked a room with 2 queens but offered 2 full size instead. They left me with no choice because it was a late check in. There is a hidden charge of $30 and I asked them what that was and they told me it was a tax for ME. I told them I have paid the room charge and tax when booking with Expedia. They told me I need to pay for that and contact Expedia. Other than that. This hotel is very old with no elevator. I would recommend to stay away from it.

Place was nice but a little outdated. The suites were much smaller than what the pictures would lead you to believe and therefore a bit overpriced. Also, they didn’t post that their pool was shut down on their website.

Our room was terrible..steady leaking shower that flowed into the entire bathroom floor, brown water with scum coming out of sink.. after asking for maintenance to fix all issues we returned to room with a note that we were being upgraded. They upgraded us to a very nice, clean and comfortable suite in the main area of resort. This was my third time at this hotel and unfortunately will be my last 😕 very upsetting to see this beloved beautiful historic resort in disrepair

Very disappointing
Don’t waste your time or money here. The name should be changed from “resort” to “motel,” over priced Motel at that! Went to take shower in am, waited forever for water to get warm then I realized this is the hottest it will get which was almost lukewarm. Got out and dried off as fast as possible to get warm. With this info, my wife didn’t even want to try to shower. Told front desk about this when checking out, not even an apology. And the resort fee is an extra $34 for the pool, the use of kayaks and a couple other things we didn’t use (who swims in an outdoor pool the third week in September in Maine?) So since the shower was cold and we didn’t use any facilities, I asked if they would comp the breakfast. She said “no” but I could tell she thought I was strange for even asking. I like to patronize family and non-chain companies because of the appreciation and personal touch but I may as well stayed at a chain.

You seemed quite angry that your resort fee did not include breakfast and began yelling at our staff when they confirmed breakfast was in fact an additional charge. It was then that you mentioned an issue with the hot water and did not give us a chance to apologize while you were disrespecting our staff and raising your voice. Our extremely hardworking staff does not deserve to be berated. Our resort amenities are very much enjoyed by our guests and our outdoor heated pool is always very popular any time of year. We arrived slightly after 11pm to find the front door locked and our room keys taped to the door. The sign said to type in your code to access the door. Well we never received a code. Regarding the codes, you tried to access a back door of a building where you were not staying, which is the reason that it did not work. You were given the proper code for the Health Club. We keep it covered to conserve heat and indicate that on the same posted note at the pool door. In regards to our breakfast, it is not a cold breakfast. We have many hot offerings and do not advertise it as complimentary. We sent you information prior to arrival that breakfast was available for 19.95/day, and that refrigerators and microwaves could be requested. We paid $325 a night to stay here and it really needs updating! Did not get a photo of the side chair but the arms were thread bare and if it were in my home it would be thrown out or reupholstered. The king bed we each had to hug the edge to have a flat surface to sleep on, buy a new mattress for gods sake! It’s the one thing people care about the most! No dead bolt … did not scream safety but maybe that’s just me?? I like to deadbolt the door knowing someone who may have a key cannot just enter my room when I’m sleeping. Would not go back.
Deadbolt not even there! Made me feel really safe right next to an outdoor entrance!

A nice convenient place to stay. Very accommodating. Dining was short staffed but they still served regardless and maintained composure. It is a fairly busy place, golf course, many rooms, a pool, tavern. If looking for a more quiet peaceful stay consider something more remote.

To start with the first thing my wife did was go to the bathroom. The toilet wouldn’t flush we had to call the front desk for help. The furniture in the room was shot you could see a lot of ware on the couch and chair. Every thing went ok thru the night. In the morning we went to o take a shower but we skipped it after seeing all the hair and soap scum in it so we promptly left

We catered to you and your group throughout your stay and provided you with a complimentary upgrade to a very clean and inspected room. I will note that you never requested housekeeping service during your stay nor did you report any issues with your room. We served you and your group for several hours in our Tavern during a very busy Saturday afternoon and only asked you to leave after you continued to vape in our restaurant despite being asked multiple times to stop. I do hope this review was not written as retaliation for our staff enforcing state law and asking your group to move outside so you could continue vaping outdoors in an area where it is permitted. Our staff works very hard and deserve to be treated with the same respect you were treated with during your stay. Front door would not close creating an unsafe situation. I had to bend down on the floor and unplug microwave in order to use coffeemaker and then reply microwave No fan in bathroom for steam

Safety is always one of our main concerns and assure you that there was never an unsafe situation while that entry door was being repaired. Extremely friendly, helpful staff at the front desk. She not only greeted us with a smile, she escorted us to our room and made sure everything was perfect. Our room was large, the beds were comfortable. The pillows were perfect and everything was very clean.

Good for the price.
Booked last minute. Check in was fine- in fact we were upgraded upon registration. The facility is bit dated but perfect for two tired guys looking for good night's sleep after hiking.

Thank you for your review Blake. Generally when a guest makes a reservation at a hotel, the hotel will take payment for the full amount of the room and reservation when you arrive. The total amount due was confirmed when you initially reserved and again when you checked in. I'm sorry that you did not feel that your accommodations met your expectations. We feel our room descriptions give a fair and accurate depiction of our accommodations. Our standard rooms are equipped with basic features and are a great option for the value seeking traveler. We do offer several different room options. Guest services would have been happy to show you our other room options and discuss making your stay more comfortable. Thank you for staying with us.

obnoxious lighting at night... was hoping to come to maine to see some stars... however maybe lawyers insist on such lighting...however can be done in a better way
