We were here for my partners birthday and the staff were attentive and very kind with a birthday greeting in our room. The room appointed to us had an amazing view of Mt Tongario and was pleasantly clean and comfortable. It was so good in fact that we spent an extra night here to enjoy the hotel and of course the snow and mountains.
Only issue we had was the thinness of the walls. Able to listen to tv from rooms either side and someone snoring in the room next door.
This was a shame as the rest of the facilities and position were good so although I would recommend it I would let friends know the down side so they could make their own decision.
Good breakfast included in our rate.

Friendliest staff you will ever meet. First place I have ever stayed where the room actually resembles the photos on the website! We literally had the most amazing stay. The food was fantastic and a good price. The room was cozy and fitted with enough heaters so there's no fear of getting cold in the night - we actually got too hot and when we stayed it was -1 outside at night. The only downfall was the TV as its location meant you couldn't sit in bed and watch it.
The rooms were basic, but warm, dry and comfy, and the facilities are great- big warm kitchen and lounge area, and fabulous shared toilet/shower facilities- all new. Big tall Scandinavian style spa pool that can be booked for use (free). I would definitely recommend this place. The only comment I have is that the top bunks did not have a safety bar, so no one ended up sleeping on it for fear of falling off- we had to share the double bed instead (ok as it was my daughter and I).
We stayed in one of the chalets, perfect location, amazing view, helpful and friendly staff. Only negative was the condition of the chalet, very very old and in desperate need of refurbishment, luckily there was perfect mountain conditions so we didn't need to spend much time in our chalet.
