Le Romain welcomes you on the second floor overlooking the inner courtyard. Just a few steps from the famous Place du Vieux Marché, you can take full advantage of Rouen's restaurants and local entertainment. This pretty F2 has a pleasant, bright living room with sofa and TV, a fully fitted and equipped open-plan kitchen, a bedroom with double bed and a shower room with WC. In the living room, relax with the comfortable sofa and TV. There is also a dining table with chairs. The fully-equipped kitchen opens onto the living room. You'll be able to prepare delicious meals here, thanks to a range of equipment including induction hobs, a host, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a kettle, a toaster, a Nespresso coffee machine and a wide selection of kitchen utensils. In the bedroom, you'll find a cosy bed (160x200cm) with hotel-quality bedding, a small wardrobe and a desk area. The shower room has a shower, toilet, washbasin and washing machine. The covered, pay car park at the old market is a 5-minute walk from Le Romain! Bed linen and towels are provided for your comfort. No private parking is available with the accommodation. However, you will be able to park your vehicle in the streets surrounding the accommodation according to the rates in force in the town. The accommodation is managed by the ArchiDuchesse concierge service, which is available 7 days a week from 10am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 9pm. History The Vieux-Marché is particularly famous for its connection with Joan of Arc. It was here, in 1431, that the famous French heroine was sentenced to death and burnt alive after her trial. A small symbolic pyre marks the exact spot where this tragic event took place. This square therefore embodies a large part of France's and Rouen's collective memory. 2\. Place du Vieux-Marché The Place du Vieux-Marché is a focal point for life and meetings in Rouen. Today, it is surrounded by half-timbered buildings typical of Normandy, giving the area a unique medieval atmosphere. These half-timbered houses are often well preserved and now house cafés, restaurants and shops. The square's terraces are a particularly popular place to enjoy the atmosphere. 3\. There are two lines (T1 and T2) that pass close to the city centre, with stations such as Théâtre des Arts and Palais de Justice, both of which are around 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the Gros-Horloge. Bus: Several bus routes serve the centre of Rouen. Stops close to the Gros-Horloge include Théâtre des Arts or Place du Vieux-Marché, which are served by numerous bus lines, such as F1, F2, and 11. 2\. Cycling (Cy'clic) Rouen also has a self-service bicycle hire scheme called Cy'clic. Bonne communication avec les gestionnaires. Cependant appartement avec des lacunes notamment niveau propreté/entretien général. Accès aux toilettes étroit. Une remarque aussi sur le sol penché. J’aurai aimé le savoir à l’avance car cela a été un inconvénient pour moi du fait de problèmes de vertiges. Il n’en reste pas moins que nous avons apprécié notre semaine rouennaise et que cet appartement a été commode car proche des monuments, musées, commerces et transports en communs. ##### JULIE M.
