4 Nights at Silver Oaks
This was our third visit to this motel. We have stayed twice before.
It is centrally located and the price cant be beaten. The rooms are warm and dry - always a bonus in winter.
The rooms desperately, desperately need attention. The bed, although clean with clean sheets needs to be updated. Its very, very soft and looks like its about 20 years old - at least. They have a sofa that converts to a bed. These are very useful, but as there is thin mattress underneath there is little to no support and sitting on them is very, very uncomfortable.
The bathroom was working fine, the shower was working and draining ok and the lights etc were functional. It is very original and I would guess from about the mid 1980's.
I agree that the images on the website are very similar to what the rooms look like now, just they were taken about 15 years ago.
The person servicing the rooms could have made the beds each day. The first day one bed was made, after the second day we gave up and did it our self.
Towels were provided as were soap and shampoo. Also dishwashing liquid to do the dishes.
I wouldn't really call it a hotel or motel as the towels were replaced as was the soap etc, but the beds were not made. I call it semi-serviced accommodation.
For the price we paid, we were happy with what we got.
My suggestion is that if the spent a little on updating the rooms, the investment will be worth it in returning guests as they have really good pricing.
