Silver Oaks Heritage

Posted 15-Jan-2017
Pros: Sam the receptionist did everything she could to help.
Cons: Rooms need upgrading, new carpet and touch of paint.
Location: Location and activities were awesome.
Went to hotel at 2pm, room service was running late so I wasn't able to check in until after 3pm. When I finally was able to check into my room, room was a mess, hadn't been vacuumed, someone elses luggage was still in there, fridge was full of food AND it looked nothing like the room I booked online. Talked to receptionist (Sam) who was absolutely lovely to deal with gave us another room which was better then the previous but I still think their rooms need a lot of work. Cracks and holes in the walls, carpet badly stained, the spa area was a mess. Ciggarette packets and butts everywhere. An old dirty rag left in the spa pool.

Silveroaks resort heritage Rotorua

Posted 13-Jan-2017
The resort had no wifi, hot pools or spa. The shower was was full of fungus and the tap in the sink sprayed water every where. The phone they had wasn't even working. The kitchen area smelled really damp and was dirty. The breakfast lady was very rude and we never had our breakfast delivered as told. The tennis court was broken. Some lights didn't work.

okay but not happy with the facility conditions

Posted 11-Jan-2017
Cons: Replace BBQ tables, clean and heated pool.
Rooms are spacious and okay but not happy with the facility conditions of completely useless outdoor rusty bbq tables and cold and unclean outdoor pool which is pictured great on the website.

Rooms poorly maintained. No clothes rods in closet, no hangers, no towel rods in bathroom. Very basic and very rustic. Would not recommend it.

Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The manager was friendly. The pool needed cleaning. We asked for our spa to be cleaned. I moved the sofa to look for the remote to the tv and it was absolutely filthy, that area hasn't seen a vacuum cleaner since who knows. The staff need lessons on cleanliness or is it the owners????. Uhhm

Room was not as described. Rotting vanity in the bathroom. Bed held up by wood as it was broken. Advertised spa bath didn't work.

You get what you pay for

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff and the price. The heated pool was great after a half marathon.
Cons: The owner needs to put some serious money into repairs and maintenance and an upgrade.
Location: Prime spot on Fenton Street so not far to CBD.
Not as bad as some of the reviews I have read. The whole place needs a renovation - it is tired and shabby, with some minor repairs needed. However, the room was clean and the staff helpful. We needed a cheap place to stay for a few days and this was adequate. However, not everyone would appreciate the 1970s retro decor.
