Overpriced and trying too hard to be flashy

Posted 05-Jan-2016
Pros: Some of the staff, especially the doormen.
Cons: Everything mentioned in the "experience" above.
Location: OK but too much of a slog downhill to the shopping, the Vatican, etc to consider it walkable.Harry's Bar and Villa Borghese very close, which is good
Room was only the exact width of the bed plus the two side tables, which were barely wide enough to hold the oversize lamps, the phone, and the junk that hotels typically put there to get you to order stuff. You could not open the drawer without removing the phone because the cord would be in the way. There was no dresser, just two miniscule drawers within the closet structure. The first time we used the shower, the handle to turn the water on fell off and had to be repaired later. The heating/cooling was automatically shut down for portions of the night so that you could depend on waking up in a sweat. The TV was half covered by the curtains and was stationary, plus the channel selection was mostly middle eastern channels (to be expected I guess) plus CNN, BBC, and MSNBC, all playing loops of the same "international" programs. No regular movies or English/US shows.

Lage solala, guter Service, nicht ganz 5 Sterne

Posted 29-Dec-2015

Great place to stay in Rome!

Posted 04-Dec-2015
Away from busy downtown Rome but easy enough to cab anywhere in Rome! Right across the street from the Bourghese Gallery, an incredible museum and park where you can hop in a row boat and have a romantic, quiet afternoon! Staff amazing, set up dinner reservations, got us where we were going and even obtains museum tickets. GREAT bar & spa, can't say enough about his hotel, our favorite place to stay in Roma!

Overpriced. Outdated.

Posted 28-Nov-2015
First, in spite the fact that the hotel was not even half full, everyone was told that the rooms are not ready and takes about two hours to be ready but... A superior room is available but it costs 700€/night. Every time an upgrade is offered this usually is offered for free ot for a small fee, not for the full price as they do here. If you don't want to pay, you just wait. If you are hungry... Bad luck, the restaurant is closed for refurbisment...but you can sit in the lobby, where they can serve you something to eat at the unconfortabile tables, while you hear all the noise from the refurbishment works at the restaurant. The front desk personell becomes agressive when asked about checkin time. The rooms are big but the bathrooms are outdated and poory maintained. The design was modern 20 years ago but now needs to be fixed. The hotel does not deserves 5 stars. Not today. The most outrageous situation was that the front desk lady that checked me in took the passport and my credit card and made copies of them in a backroom ... After one week someone was using my card in US. Go figure!! I have filled a criminal complain and wait for the result.

Luxushotel mit allem Komfort

Posted 02-Nov-2015
Sehr elegantes erstklassiges Hotel.
