The staff from the moment I got out of the car, were friendly and eager to please. The hotel is dated but very comfortable. The room had a chair and couch along with 2 queen beds. The view was not good but I wasnt there to look out the window. It is located in the middle of Lincoln Square, easily accessible to shopping and restaurants. The bathroom was small. It has a shower, no tub. Their are four elevators which helps move many tenants. We valet parked our car which was easy. There is not many places to park in the city easily. I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

Prime location for Lincoln Center events and great dining options. Very walkable to everything. Safe, quaint neighborhood. Empire Hotel public areas and rooftop beautiful. Very designer friendly small rooms are the perfect NY stay for a boutique property. Would definitely stay again when seeing opera etc.

The staff at this property were very rude and unwelcoming. I felt like it was a prison. They kept asking to see my room card everytime to verify that i was a guest. When i got there the room wasnt ready so i had to wait for 2 hours before my room was ready. The hotel is old inside and not modern at all. Parking is 2 blocks away and they give a discount. If u come in late u will not b anle to park in the parkong lot. U will have to park on thw road and wake up early to move your car. All in all im never staying in manhattan again. Bad experience because of the empire

This hotel showed some wear and tear in small ways in our hotel room, but everything else was great for the price. The location being right next to the Lincoln Center is perfect for attending a show or the opera. The rooftop bar was just right with its small plates and big views. There was aSarbucks right on the corner too. Central Park was just a few blocks away.

Worst hotel experience in NYC ever! Initially assigned room 109. This room is right next to a massive HVAC unit that runs 24/7. The noise in the room was unbearable. After a long conversation with the Manager and a receptionist I was assigned room 507. Though this room is 4 floors high; it was almost as noisy as #107, being situated above the HVAC unit. The size of both rooms barely allows space for a medium sized suitcase. The surliness of the staff only worsened the experience. Never again!

Staff was great. Property was conveniently located to nearby subway stations and Central Park. The room felt a bit dated. Shower head was wonky and needed some encouragement to work. Water was HOT! Beds and plows were comfy. Check in / Check out was quick and seamless. Would stay again, did not checkout the rooftop.

We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing was we had no view at all and because of that the room was really dark but otherwise we really enjoyed our stay.

The Empire Hotel is located in a clean, quiet safe area with a one minute walk to the nearest subway located at 59 St-Columbus Circle. Outside the hotel there is always a cab or Uber nearby if you don't want to walk. There are several coffee shops, convenient stores and a deli located nearby. Central Park is literally a five minute walk from your hotel which allows you to have a relaxing twenty minute scenic walk to all the major sites located on 5th Ave. Plus the service at the hotel is excellent. I highly recommend it.

All of the employees that we came in contact with were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. We could not get the heat to work. There was a lot of street noise and someone talking loudly in the hallway around 3am. The pipes were extremely noisy in the middle of the night. The bed was hard, which I didn’t mind but my fiancé did not enjoy. Then when we were getting ready to leave, we tried to call ahead to have the car ready but the phone just rang busy. Other than that, it was a convenient place to stay to go to the opera.

Room was expected to be a suite fit for 5 people, however was very small and dark. The room looked very tired and not adequate for the price we paid. The location of the hotel was great but not as close to Times Square as was made out. There is no breakfast option although there are lots of options. The swimming pool was not operational which was a real shame, should have not told us in off peak it’s closed. Staff were nice but we didn’t really need them. Overall average hotel and pricey.

Beautiful deco hotel. Right next to Lincoln Center and Central Park. No coffee in hotel, but nearby options. Air in rooms does not cool. Rooftop bar open to public, but screened by staff.

I discovered they had booked me into their smallest worst room with a view of their working parts. I have stayed at the Empire many times over the years but NEVER gotten such a bad room. fortunately due to the broken AC they upgraded me to another room only somewhat better. The hotel seems to mirror the state of the country.

Convenient to Metropolitan Opera across the street, which is what mattered most to me. Old hotel, decently updated with still rather dingy decor. Dark, narrow corridor. Insufficient light in one dark corner. Needed phone light to see card slot in door and to try to set temperature (complicated). Fridge in room. Plenty of pug-ins. Water pressure extremely strong, but in both sink and shower never knew when it would be cold, lukewarm, or too hot. Confusing shower, soaked tiny bathroom. Helpful and attentive staff.

The staff was very helpful, pleasant and friendly. The hotel is clean but does need some minor cosmetic repairs to wallpaper and blinds. I truly enjoyed my stay there.

The hotel overall was very nice, the roof top bar was also really nice. The only thing I didn't really like was that the drain in my shower didn't work properly, so I was standing in a large amount of water while showering. But other than that, decent hotel.

Hotel is in a great location. However the reviews don’t lie, it’s very dated with minimal basics, no coffee maker, very few outlets for electronics. You can see cracks in the ceiling and closet should be replaced. If you want a good location with little things a small room this is the place for you. If not, I’d look elsewhere. The staff is super nice and helpful, but we would not stay here again unless it gets a major facelift.
