We arrived on Saturday for our stay until Monday morning. First thing we noticed was the number of kids (a few soccer teams worth) running around the lobby as their parents sat in the lobby hanging out & drinking from the coolers of beer they brought with them. Needless to say, the kids were out of control and they parents would do nothing to stop it. I felt so bad for the hotel staff at the front desk. We went up to our room and turned the heat on 72, it never got about 60 in our room the whole time we were there. It was blowing cold air. I did get extra blankets from the front desk though.
Overall, it wasn't that bad. The kid thing was super annoying but they all left on Sunday morning and Sunday evening was much more pleasant in the hotel.
Nice, new hotel. Very modern. Breakfast and parking are extra. Hot water went out so no shower, we were compensated with breakfast and parking, but later found out others had been refunded for the room.
As the only hotel located at the Rockville Town Center, it is your opportunity to explore. Just two blocks from the Metrorail …More
I stayed in the room closer to the freeway. It is very noisy at night. It appears that room with lower room numbers is further away from the freeway. There is only a small shower in my room, not sure if any room has bathtub.
For me the hotel was well located for my business meetings. Bed was clean and room was big enough. However, I found it to be overpriced for the level of amenities - an old coffee machine in the room with one regular and one decaf bag, no free coffee in the lobby, breakfast that needed to be purchased, etc.
Maryland’s second-largest city is Rockville. A remote Washington, D.C. suburb, the red line of the nation’s capital subway stops here, as does MARC (a regional light rail service between Baltimore and Washington) and Amtrak. F. Scott Fitzgerald is buried here and REM’s song “Rockville” is about this city.
