Nice little place! Stayed for one night before crossing to Cozumel. Close to everything and many restaurants, 5 mins to ferry terminal which is why we stayed there. I recommend this place, staff very friendly!

Amazing staff and hands on owner. Clean, great location,quiet, safe. Staff had great reccomend ations to make vacation better. Outdoor kitchen and pool made life very comfotable. 10 out of 10. Almost want to keep it a secret. What a gem!

Had considered staying on the beach, but after reading the reviews about the noise, decided to stay at Hotel Lunasol. So glad we did. The noise in many places with direct access to the beach was uncomfortably loud, even for my 24 year old grandson. Hotel Lunasol was quiet and a great choice very easy walk to the beach, and just a couple blocks from the ADO and the park Fundadores. The park had various entertainment going on in the early evening; native dancers, and flying pole dancers (danza de los volatores). park Fundadores, is the loading center for the Ferry to Cozumel. Was concerned that it might be to busy with the Ferry located there. But hardly noticed it coming and going. The staff were GREAT at the hotel, and provided easy access for a late arrival. Linens were VERY good quality, and unit was cleaned every day. The grounds of the hotel were imaculately kept.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was free coffee in the morning in the reception area, which was great. The kitchen facilities off the pool area were very convenient. Would definitely recommend.

Great Location, close to everything
The hotel is located close to 5th ave, but far enough away to avoid the noise issues. The room was basic, but clean, and the shower worked well. Hot water was never an issue, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Exactly what you need to experience entire Yucatan
Great central place to stay if you want to see what the peninsula has to offer. Cozumel, Chichen Itza, Tulum, Xcaret and Cancun. ADO station 10 min walk (pass by amazing taco stands on the way). Has everything you need for a comfortable stay, including the all important fridge. Modern amenities and conveniently located. Excellent night time security.

I stayed six days at Hotel Lunasol and thought it was a great small hotel, with a restful pool area, friendly staff, great morning coffee and rooms containing outdoor seating area, fridge, safe, AC, blackout blinds, etc. Very convenient to Quinta Avenida but far enough away that you don't hear the noise from there. There are a few small places within a block with good breakfast options and banks, convenience shops nearby as well. I would like to thank the staff and hotel for making our staff in Playa a good one!

The people were very nice and did a great job. Our first time back to this property in 4 years due to COVID. Only issue was with air conditioning leaking but they fixed it! Oscar was great!

Property is very pretty and friendly. This is not a resort and i am not one of those people who have to have everything perfect. We are in Mexico things are old and some things need repair. I hadno complaints. Its safe and walkable to down town. Rooms that overlook the pool are niceand quiet. There is a microwave in a comon area for use if you need it. Everything was clean and staff was friendly.

A nice quiet stay
A pretty hotel on two levels with no elevator and a small pool to take a refreshing dip. It is a short walk to the pedestrian 5th avenue ( 2 short blocks ), and the beach ( another 2). So basically 2 to 3 minutes to the pedestrian street and 5 to the beach. There are restaurants close by, including local street vendors in a square across from a seven eleven a block away. The ADO bus station, plaza de Los pescadores , and the ferry to Cozumel are all around 8 to 10 minutes walk away more or less depending on how you walk. You can google the distance to be verify. The hotel is pretty, and the rooms are nice and clean. You have a small fridge for food and drinks, no phone, wifi which worked fine, and a tv with 4 or 5 English channels. The beds were comfy enough for us. There is also a full kitchen downstairs next to the pool with a microwave. Coffee and water are provided in the lobby. Lastly, it does have 5 parking spots for rental cars on a first come first serve basis. There is a paid parking lot directly across the street if you didn’t get a spot. All in all a great little place that won’t break your bank. We would stay here again.

Comfortable beds, room facing the pool which was also nice. Water a bit too cold. Friendly and welcoming staff (Roberto). Quick to provide info and take care of issues (replacing remote battery, correcting room assignment from booking). My booking was for two adults and two kids (14, 15 yrs old) but for some reason they only saw two adults in the booking. I was charged $200 mex pesos for each of my kids which was a bit of a bummer as I thought they stayed free if under 17 and using the exact number of beds in the room. The tv is very small. Location is great, so easy for eating & shopping needs. They offer free water and coffee in the lobby and a range of popular tour packages around the area. Free parking was also nice. Air conditioning in the room was an added bonus. Very clean room.

Thank you for your comment, it is very important to us. The inconvenience was directly with your booking agency and you since they did not place the correct number of people, the reservation, was made only with 2 people, as your reservation was shown, and only children under 12 years old are free, it is clear that 13 years and older you have to pay extra. This information is on the website you booked. For this reason he was reassigned because there were only 2 people in his original reservation.

the hotel is ideally located in the downtown, which also means it's in the party zone, where music blares from numerous locations until at least 2 am every evening. it is far enough away that it is a distant roar, but sometimes it's very noisy. They do not charge more for A/C, which some hotels do, so one could close the windows, but we do not use a/c unless really necessary. there is a waterfall in the pool area which provides soothing sounds, which helps. the staff is excellent, very professional yet accommodating. They do not allow smoking on the grounds, which some will like and some will not! we opted for the (paid) breakfast, also excellent, but which meant we did not visit any other restaurants for breakfast, which is a pity, because there are many other choices for dining that I will explore on our next visit.

The entire staff, front desk (Victor, Roberto and Miguel) along with housekeeping, were all so amazing, full of information, spoke amazing English, and were all so very accommodating. Also, the location is PERFECT PERFECT! 2 blocks from the beach (4min) and situated on the cusp of the most amazing local restaurants with amazing eats!

We have stayed here several times. It is in a great downtown area just west of the 5th Ave area. Great inexpensive restaurants very close and a 5 min wail from the beach. The staff is exceptional. Mike, Christian and Victor are all great and responsive to every need. Housekeeping is also excellent

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff at the front desk are great. The location is close to all the action Playa Del Carmen has to offer. We took a collectivo to a cenote Jardin De Eden and it was great. Took a snorkel trip to Cozumel loved it and went to a wedding in Tulum. The only negatives were all the seaweed on the shore, and I got sick from the water or food in the area.

Great place!
We enjoyed staying at Lunasol very much! Spacious room, comfortable bed, great shower, beautiful and clean pool. Good location. We’ll definitely stay here again if we make it back to Playa!

Courteous staff. 7 mins walk to a beach that is stunning in every respect (sand, water, amenities). 5th Avenue is right near (5 mins walk) to see, only way i can frame it, the daily 'carnival'.
