Empty hotel, but I was put on the top floor. Asked about changing to the bottom floor, but told they were all dirty. Clean room. Decent bed...but NO hot water in the morning. Tried to explain it to Jesus, but he just kept repeating himself that he could do nothing about it and they never had issue before. No worries Jesus. I was leaving...only letting you know for future reference!

Nice stay but loud street
Nice place to stay, however beware if you get assigned a street facing room. Music from the restaurants outside the hotel is very loud and goes on till late night.

Location is perfect, a lot of restaurants, bars and shopping stores around. Personal was very friendly and the room big and clean with a nice A/C unit. Thanks to Jorge in the front desk very nice person.

Good place - need to pay to park at a lot nearby
Good place and close to everything but you need to park at a paid lot nearby or at the mall down the road. Side street parking is not readily available. The WiFi is good and the aircon was good. It is very close to 5th avenue so could be a little noisy in evening, but not too bad.

Cute character hotel for the win
The hotel is in the most perfect location next to 5th Ave and 3 minutes from the beach. It’s right next to all the party’s but just off the block enough to not be overwhelmingly loud. When you enter you’re greeted by very friendly staff and the court yard in the middle is super adorable... the room was perfectly furnished and comfortable. The small terrace was awesome and the view allowed you to see all the action. I highly recommend this place!

The hotel is centrally located on the Playa Del Carmen peatonal... but, no pool or jacuzzi... and not close to the beach... but, the room was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly...

The rooms were very clean and in very good state. The staff are very helpful and kind. It's a beautiful little hotel and the garden is serene looking. There is no pool but it's only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the beach. You are surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and there are 2 convenience stores 1 minute down the road if you turn right coming out of the hotel. They also have free coffee and water in reception. Overall, a very pleasant stay, thank you.

Overbooked so we had no room
Coco Rio is a great relaxing hotel unfortunatly we didn't get to stay there. It was a downpour & they said the room wasn't ready so we found someplace to hang out. When we came back, soaked to the bone, they said overbooked but we could stay at Koox instead. So we walked in the rain with our luggage to the other hotel. The other hotel was very disappointing. There was nowhere to sit outside so we were stuck in the room. We had planned on chilling in the hammocks at Coco Rio. Instead of relaxation we got street noise. The room was industrial & uncomfortable, the opposite of Coco Rio. Coco Rio has botanical soaps & shampoo that smell heavenly, Koox has harsh chemical stuff. I was very unhappy that we didn't get to stay at Coco Rio as we had planned. It is a lovely hotel which is why we booked it.

No elevator. Too noisy.
Appreciated being provided a parking spot out front since area is very congested. Hardly any amenities (no pool, no breakfast, no elevator, noisy neighborhood). We arer an elderly couple and climbing steps to 3rd floor were difficult. I guess I should have asked about these things in advance of booking. Will know better next trip.

Great accommodation with great location
My sister and I stayed for a week last month and had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms newly decorated and comfortable beds. We took one of the day trips the hotel recommended and it was cheaper through the hotel then elsewhere and very well organised. The only downside is that the hotel can be a bit loud. Next door plays live music every night but they stop at 11pm but we knew that beforehand through various reviews and so we didn't mind and came prepared with earplugs. Despite that we would definitely stay again.

Fair spot for the price...
Everything was good, clean, friendly staff at front desk and excellent location. Only minor issue is that the room is very small and beds need to be changed. Bed creaked a lot.

Convenient hotel close to tourist area
Regular room barely have space for storing clothes and no way for hang up clothes. We paid an upgrade to jr suite room (2k mx). nice room. We asked for sweeping the room and the maid got a lot of dirt out (it supposed to be cleaned before, make you doubt). some staff was not friendly, one guy barely greets us and the other we asked for help and he responds back, not sure if we should greet or ask. one parking in the front (first serve). Generally, for us staff make a big difference when they do their works nice and professional. I won't come back, I will try other hotels in the area, many to choose from.

In the middle of it all
We stayed at Coco Rio for 3 days for a quick business trip. We chose it because it was in the between two companies that we were dealing with. One north end of Playa, one south end of Playa. It was ok . We arrived very early and they let us check our bags while our room was get ready. A little concerned as out bags were just behind the front desk in plain sight, but all was good in the end. They did let us check into our room at 12:30 ahead of schedule. They give you a tv remote, air conditioning remote and the key. The key is on a massive piece of wood, you can check it back at front desk every time you leave hotel so it does become annoying to carry around. Bed was a little hard for our taste. Pillows were the standard WWII army issue wafers. Check out was easy and they made sure they destroy your credit card receipt.

Great hotel for needing a basic place to stay that's clean and close to Fifth Ave and the beach. No noise issue at night. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again.

Good hotel, Great Staff
Hotel location is great. Right off 5th but not loud. Easy walk to Mamitas Beach Club. Claudio was very courteous. Carlos was super fun, and went out of his way to help us. The only downside is there is no pool.

Great hotel near the beach
Nice, small hotel near Mamitas beach. Very friendly staff always willing to help with any issue. I would recommend to use the local bus company to get to Playa and not SuperShuttle (the worst service ever) that would take you at least 3 hrs to get there.

Smaller and simpler place, but lots of character.
Enjoyed a week at this gem, great location. This is a smaller hotel, but the rooms are large. There is no pool, but the beach is just a few blocks away.

I had a great stay with a large group of friends. We all stayed at this hotel, which is centrally located, just steps aways from Quinta Avenida. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Perfect hotel for a getaway.
