Beautiful surroundings and lovely comfortable accommodation. Service could have been more attentive in the main house; table not cleared until I helped and then not cleared again after I’d used it. A wait for help at reception. Just didn’t seem many staff about! But, the accommodation itself is beautiful.

Very nice grounds. Mostly friendly attentive staff. We stayed in the coach house. Corners of the windows were covered/smeared with bird droppings. In the bathroom our toilet had a faecal stain on the toilet bowl.

Stayed here for 3 nights and it was a fabulous place to stay, just like being a guest in a stately home. All the staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful and are a credit to the hotel. Room was lovely with gorgeous views of the deer in the grounds. Beautiful drawing room and sitting room downstairs where guests could relax by the open fire and have a drink or afternoon tea. We ate at the Terrace Restaurant and Samuels and the food in both was superb. Breakfast was lovely too with cereals, pastries, yogurts, hams, cheeses, fruit on a buffet table and the cooked breakfasts were waiter service with a lot of choice. My only gripe is that a couple of days before our stay we had a phone call to say that guests have to now pay to use the spa and it was £25 each for 4 hours. With this calibre of hotel I do think the pool, sauna, Jacuzzi should be free to paying guests and it did put a damper on our trip before we had arrived but having not used the spa it didn't spoil our trip. Would definitely recommend the hotel.

Friendly and welcoming. Sensible, unobtrusive COVID precautions which did not detract from our stay. The full “Downton Abbey” experience In a beautiful part of the country.

The hotel is a grand old country house restored and maintained to a high standard. The spa is extensive, varied and at the top end. Food was up to the same standard as were the hotel staff. Only negative you have to go outside to get to the spa and terrace restaurant and it was raining

Lovely overnight stay, spa was amazing. Dog friendly in an amazing and beautiful setting. 10/10 The only suggestion I would make would be a dog bowl and bed I t he room waiting upon arrival. Just a little finishing touch which makes the difference.

Swinton park was fabulous, just what we needed! staff were all extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. it was clean and tidy everywhere we went. The grounds are beautiful. The spa and spa facilities are lovely, better than most other I have experienced. The food at the terrace bar was delicious! The only part that would mark it down slightly was that we had to wait for our room to be ready when we arrived at 14.55, but all in all we had a fabulous stay at Swinton park!

We’ve really enjoyed our stay at Swinton park. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and can’t do enough especially the breakfast waitress jade. The food in the Terrace Restaurant was amazing.

The property and grounds were like from a fairy tale! The entire stay was magical. I felt like I was transported into a different era. Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room was an experience in luxury. The gardens were stunning and they even have a large herd of Fallow Deer! The attention the staff paid to every detail made you feel like royalty. They grow their own vegetables on the grounds and the chefs pick them and base the day's menu on what they've picked - I had the most delicious salads I've ever eaten there. Can't recommend this enough - everybody deserves to be treated to extravagance like this.

Lovely break in Yorkshire
A beautiful country house style hotel set in a lovely location. We ate in the contemporary Terrace Restaurant and it was very good food with a nice outlook on to the garden. Great for visiting local villages and gardens. Lovely to watch the deer , visit the birds in the aviary and the extra bonus of seeing a cricket match on the front lawn.

Incredibly well maintained grounds with lovely walks signposted and boots to borrow. Really helpful staff and comfy beds. Delicious food! Spa is wonderfully appointed - outdoor sauna and fire seating section a particular highlight.

Classic English country house hotel
We stayed 2 nights in June - the third time we have stayed at this hotel. The facilities are wonderful with extensive grounds and one of the best spas we have used. Our room was spacious with a wonderful view of the countryside. Breakfast is excellent and the food in the Terrace restaurant features fresh produce from the Swinton estate.Service can be a bit slow and wifi needs improving but we still look forward to coming back! The location is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire dales nearby and the North York moors are also within reach.

30th birthday weekend
Visited for wife’s 30th birthday weekend - was lovely hotel for a special occasion. would love to come back during the summer months. the surrounding area is great for walks and being outdoors. The staff are great and nothing was too much trouble. Would strongly recommend

We loved everything! Beautiful property and the most pleasant and polite staff. The history behind the castle is extraordinary and so many things to see, like the towpaths on the property, handling hawks and owls or fly fishing. Our toliet in the room didn't work very well but the room was huge and clean. The breakfast was delicious and there are a few options for dinner which was also delicious. The workout facilities was accessible and had a spa onsite. We will definitely go again.
