8.6/10 Excellent! (1,000 reviews)
The area around the hotel was very noisy from an early time each morning. I became sick and needed a taxi to a doctor at the train station. The staff was unhelpful, assuring me no taxi would take me such a short distance. I could not stand up. I asked about an Uber and they suggested I try that. Unfortunately, the hotel WiFi was down. They did not care. I hobbled outside to city WiFi and caught an Uber. When I returned, my key card did not work. I asked for a new one at the front desk and was asked for my ID. Isn't in a lobby chair to find it and couldn't get up. Some time later the desk clerk took mercy and brought me a working key. I could not call the front staff caring or helpful.

9.6/10 Exceptional! (224 reviews)
Absolutely fabulous hotel and perfect location to enjoy the wonderful scenery - mountain hikes and swimming and activities on the lake. Duty manager so welcoming, helpful and friendly, advising us on walks on our arrival. Friendly restaurant staff and a great buffet breakfast to start the day with a much appreciated vegan selection.
Lovely bakery on-site and covered walkway to the cable car opposite the hotel.
Lovely spa area to relax after hiking, or to watch the rain from.
Comfortable bed, fresh spring water, large balconies. No apparent air con, but nice just to have the window tilted open.
Well served by buses

Klarna has several payment plans to choose from, so you're sure to find one that fits your budget. Take a look at these flexible payment options:
- Pay monthly holidays: If paying bite-sized amounts each month works for you, Klarna can help. Paying in easy monthly instalments will make that dream holiday possible.
- Pay in instalments holidays: With this Book Now, Pay Later option, Klarna allows you to pay for your trip across multiple transactions.
- Low deposit holidays: If paying a small percentage of your trip (rather than the full total upfront) makes it easier to click that "book now" button, opt for a low deposit holiday payment plan with Klarna.
How far in advance should I book my Riken holiday?
Reserving your tickets early with Expedia means one less thing to have to worry about. Many air carriers advertise prices up to 12 months prior to take off.
