Nice hotel, close to everything

Posted 26-Feb-2017
Pros: The staff were very helpful.
Cons: The Breakfast . I suppose it's a matter of taste, couldn't get a decent cup of coffee!
Location: Located in the old town, just across the road from the old hangers which is now a market. Freedom monument pretty impressive, historic buildings, shops
We went for a short break to Riga. The hotel was easy to find, clean, excellent bathroom and the staff were very helpful. The only downside was the breakfast. There was plenty to choose from but not to my taste. Riga is a charming place, small and easy to get round. Go to the Skyline bar at the Raddisson for wonderful panoramic views of Riga.

Excellent hotel, perfect location.

Posted 13-Feb-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Too hot in the rooms
Location: The location is ideal. Literally straight out the door to Bus no 22 to the airport (1.15 euro each, takes about 20 mins).
The hotel is exactly what it says it is = a 4* Conference Hotel. Nice clean, airy lobby with bar and restaurant area, overlooked by the glass lifts. Rooms are tidy and well kept with good furnishings and all facilities you would like (ie minibar, safe, iron/board). Windows are practically soundproof, thus eliminating any external noise, though they can be opened if required. The location is ideal. Literally straight out the door to Bus no 22 to the airport (1.15 euro each, takes about 20 mins). It is a 2 minute walk to the main bus station via an underpass. This is also directly outside the "zeppelin hangar" daily market. Within a minute you can walk straight into the old town of Riga with it's beautiful architecture, churches, monuments and cathedrals. We struggled to find a lot of traditional Latvian places - it was very big city like, with Subway, McDonalds, KFC, TGI Fridays etc. We did bump into a few though, mainly around the Swedish Gate area. Despite the name, the Flying Frog is also worth a visit for a traditional main meal.

Like this hotel and the location. BUT! Stayed here a few times before and lost my patience with two things (commented on them after every stay). There's only one rubbish bin in a bedroom (in a bathroom) and a chambermaid always moving it back from a room!!!! Why on the Earth they don't want to put a secong bin in the bedrooms?! Decent breakfast is completely destroyed with cooking of eggs and..... why there's no tomato juice?? Eastern European people love it!!

Nice hotel near to everything.

Pros: The location was the main reason we picked this hotel so we didn't have to get taxi's as everything was within walking distance.
Cons: Free water in the rooms and not 5 euro's for a bottle of water. Happier bar man.
Location: Make sure you go to the Radisson Blu hotel. On the 27th floor they have a lovely bar with great views. Go to the Zeppelin Hangers market.
Good hotel in a great location within walking distance to the old town with lots of bars and restaurants. Bus terminal and market just across the road. Reception staff very nice and gave us a free room upgrade. Room all o.k. and shower was lovely. Breakfast very good with a big selection. You can order omelettes etc., which are huge and come with salad. Happy Hour in hotel bar between 3-5pm which is 30% discount on all bar food and drinks. Make sure you get the bus from the airport to the hotel as it only costs 1.15 euro and takes 20 minutes. Just across the road is the bus terminal and we booked tickets to Lithuania for the day which worked our £29.00 return (32 euro's). It's 4 hours each way on the coach but your have your own TV with films, music, games and internet use etc and there is unlimited free tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Also took a tram which costs 1.15 euro for any single journey.

Highly recommend this hotel

Pros: Location. Amazing breakfast. Lovely and quiet so had great nights sleep.
Cons: Maybe have a bin in the bedroom as they only had them in the bathroom.
Location: Located in the Old Town.
Arrived at this hotel early and they gave us free early check in and upgraded our room to a Superior which was nice and spacious with a great view across to the Zeppelin Hangars. The hotel is in a great location.

Great hotel by the edge of oldtown

Posted 11-Dec-2016
Location: The location is by the edge between the old town and new.
I love the location of this hotel. It's by the edge of old town, and quiet. Bus station is 5-10 min walk, bus stop from/to airport is right by the hotel, old town is less than 5 min walk, and the new shopping mall is 5 min away. The hotel is a bit old and small but considered clean. the staffs are friendly and helpful. Would def recommend it to travelers who doesn't stay too long in the room.
