We loved Currier’s for our Labor Day holiday. It is close to the Twin Cities, clean, comfy, and dog friendly. The free kayaks, paddle boards, and other boats are an added bonus! We hope to make our visit an annual thing!

NEGATIVES: Too expensive for what was provided. Room decor very dated. Bathroom had no surface area (shelf?) for toiletries. Bed uncomfortable. No substantial lighting at night to utilize peep hole. Would not return unless room rate significantly reduced. Screaming children in lakes just outside door. Walls paper thin. Not handicap friendly. POSITIVES: Good location. Pleasant staff. Refrigerator. Convenient parking.

Hi Gary- we are sorry to learn of this. You were in our Songbird themed room of our lodge. This room has new flooring, a new bed and mattress as well as new Amish furniture of the table and chairs in your room. We do have other rooms larger with a kitchen and handicapped accessible should you have wanted a different room. Our rates have been very competitive compared to hotels in the area as we encompass a 7 acre lake lot and complimentary nonmotorized boats with the stay. If we would have known ahead of your concerns we could have assisted with noise outside of your room at the lake or a different room. As a small business owner we try to ensure guest satisfaction

The back door of our room opened into the patio right by the lake. Nice view of the sunset from the patio! We also enjoyed using the kayaks a couple of times during our stay. They have coffee and scones for breakfast, which was fine for us, but could have a few more options.

Hello- thank you so much for the review. As a lodge we do not offer a breakfast but since COVID we wanted to add a homemade scone and mandarin for each guest from our local bakery in the morning as a complement to the stay and supporting local. We look forward to seeing you again!

I can't evaluate this hotel because I could not make it as scheduled. The plan for the person I was to visit in the hospital changed and we did not make the 4 hour trip. The policy is "no cancellations" so I knew I was losing my money. Several days before i had called to be certain they were "pet friendly" as it says on the website, but you can't get through to a phone or real person. Everything has to go through Expedia and good luck with that. Customer service should be a goal here. Everyone got their money from this and it wasn't me.

I am replying from Curriers Lakeview Lodge- you booked through Expedia and not directly with us. We did not hear from you at our Lodge. When guests book through Expedia they have to cancel through Expedia. Our lodge has a website as well for direct bookings and we have a live person on site 24/7. We are so sorry you had this experience- please contact Expedia for your complaint. We at our lodge as a small business has 20 rooms and a 3 day cancellation policy on our site.

A lovely place right on a lake
The lodge is rustic looking and as we got a couple inches of snow which since we are not used to having cars covered the people in the office showed our driver how to do it as he wanted to do it himself My room was decorated with song birds and all the rooms had different themes

Very clean and quaint setting on the lake. A great playground and available paddle boats for guests. Cute pastries and fruit offered in the morning as well as locally sourced coffee. Loved the friendly staff and the clean, convenient property. The kitchenette and provided cookware and dishware was an excellent bonus.

The Lodge furnishings were Lovely, and the surroundings were extraordinary! We stayed for 3 nights and had our pick of canoes and boats…. It was windy, but we took advantage of the great chairs and docks and decks, and had a marvelous time~. Both Cathy and Missy, who gave us our amazing scones and oranges, along with really pleasant conversations, were so helpful and fun and kind! We also had nice conversations with Shawn, the owner and Austin, who works most evenings! We had a Terrific experience!!

Off the beaten path, yet close to everything. Freshly remodeled cabins with private entrances and walk out to dock and lake. Kayaks, canoes, SUP’s, paddle boats, and BBQ grills onsite. Friendly staff. Bonfire pit with free pre cut wood. Bikes would be the only other thing this place needs! Loved our stay!

Better than we expected
This was a last minute decision for us. We really did not know what to expect when we got there. The lodge is extremely pet/dog friendly and the facility was actually nicer than what it appeared in the pictures. The owners seem to be doing a significant amount of work to update and maintain the property. The staff was friendly and responsive. Free use of any of the numerous gas grills, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, fire pit. We have a very good weekend. The rooms seemed to be recently remodeled and in beautiful shape. The beds were comfortable as well. Our room had a kitchenette, which made it very nice for preparing meals throughout the weekend.

The Lakeview was beautiful, However for the price of the room and the quality of it was not worth the cost the staff was good however again you guys need to upgrade your rooms a crate and wrong and the bad sucked

We are sorry you were unhappy with your room, we were unaware of your concerns and would have been happy to address them. We have many room choices available including a jacuzzi and kitchen as well as family suites- each individually themed. Our bedding is written on our website and beds are new, however we understand that each persons style of firmness is unique. We hope you enjoyed as well the complimentary use of our nonmotorized boats and the 7 acre lake lot.

Curriers Lakeview Lodge was a fantastic find, thank you!! We had everything we needed on the grounds beautiful views, great sitting areas with fire pits, paddle boards, boats ,kayaks, you could rent a pan toon too Tasty scones in the morning were available in the office for all the guests. This has become one of my favorite places 💜

Really enjoyed our songbird themed room which was a welcomed surprise. Comfortable bedding with plenty of pillows. Delicious coffee and complimentary scones from a local bakery in the morning. The views and lake access would have been ideal had it not been cold and rainy. All staff were very friendly and accomodating.

This is a lovely getaway. The lake is right out your door, they provide free water toys to play with, grills, and a fire pit. Much more relaxed than some other northern getaways and still lots to do.

Loved the pet friendly rooms and environment. The staff was so accommodating and nice. I love that you can use any non powered boats or paddle boards for free and the lake views were amazing. I wish the swimming area was easier to get in and out of and that there was a shore to access instead of rocks or a dock. Overall very nice and will definitely stay there again with my dogs and recommend anyone else with dogs to do the same.

Was there just at the transtion from winter to summer so there was no snow but the lake was still iced, so there was not much to do except hike, and that could get a bit mushy. Nonetheless it was most pleasant.

Lovely lakeside experience near town.
The rustic lodge has a beautiful setting on the eastern side of Rice Lake, just across The Narrows Bridge from the town area, which has good eating and shopping. The rooms stretch out along the lake, with shared deck areas for sitting out. Canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats/boards are complimentary, motored boats are rentals. It's a great lake to sit and look at, paddle around in, or fish in. They provided coffee and scones in the morning, and there are some books to read and puzzles to do, plus tourist info. We loved the decor in the Bear's Den, with nice bathroom, door to the deck, corner table area, comfy bed, frig, coffee maker, and flat screen tv. Outside there is playground and picnic area, plus a campfire area. We'll come again!!!!

It was really quaint and cozy. The room had plenty of space for three kids and it was really nice to have the kitchen area available so we didn’t have to eat out. The staff was super friendly and even though the breakfast wasn’t “normal” due to COVID, the scones they had were from a local bakery which was a nice touch and the coffee was readily available! We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!
