I do apologize for the ice machine being out of order during your stay and any inconvience it caused you. We worked diligently to have our ice machiene repaired as quickly as possible, but we did have to wait for a back ordered part. Our best and only solution for not having an elevator at this time is if booking online, to call the hotel directly after to request a first floor room. If you call the hotel directly to reserve, we have trained each staff member making reservations to ask every guest if they need a first floor room. We do our best to accommodate these requests and understand its not allways convenient for our guests to be on the second floor without having an elevator. I do apologize you were originally given a second floor room, wonderful to hear the staff was able to accommodate you by giving you a first floor room. When making a reservation through a third party, it does take away from the training I have personally giving my staff. We are aware of the lack of the elevator in the building as well as not having safety bars in the bath tubs in all rooms, when making reservations for our guests we ask each one if they need a first floor room. Not all of our rooms have grab bars but we do have some that do. For these special requests I do recommend going through the hotel directly, our staff works in the building and we do our best to accommodate all needs of guests so they are comfortable during their stay. I apologize for the issue with your keys, putting them by your cell phone can deactivate them, this is possibly the issue. We are working with a new staff here at the hotel and we do our best to solve guest issues in a timely manner, I do apologize if this inconvienced you in anyway. We do hope if you are in the area again you will give us another chance. Please reach out to me directly to make sure you are given both a first floor room as well as a room with the grab bars. It is never our intention for you to be uncomfortable in anyway when you stay with us.
