Excellent hotel right in the heart of Rhodes. Breakfast was great and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Walking distance to shops, the port and the old town. Great value and would highly recommend to anyone.

I'm torn....?
I really really really want to give this review a 5 star but because of what happened at the beginning of our stay, I just can't. Essentially I showed up and they checked my girlfriend and I in. Everything seemed fine. Our room looked nice and we were excited to begin our first days in Greece after spending a few weeks in turkey. That's where the problems began for us..... We got a phone call from the reception lady asking us to come back down because she had something she needed to talk to us about. Confused, we made our way down... She explained to us our room was only booked for one person and they would have to charge us an additional 20 euros (Per night) for my girlfriend to stay with me. This is almost the same price i payed for the hotel! So, I quickly pulled out my phone and showed her the email stating I had booked the hotel for two people for 5 nights. She kept saying her system only showed one person and basically insinuated my email didn't really matter. She asked me to call Expedia which I reluctantly did.... Even Expedia talked about how it was originally booked for two and they arn't sure whats going on with the system.... The hotel didn't care and still wanted to charge me. So, this continued on for a few hours longer, and a lot of expensive calls later. Finally, we came to the agreement of 10 Euros per night. My problem with this was I checked to see the price difference on Expedia for 1 vs 2 people and it was the exact same price! So, why charge me more?!?!?

Below my expectations
Unfortunately, this hotel is below my standards. One thing is sure, is that it needs restoration. The only positive thing was the staff. Everybody was very kind and helpful. I was wondering why this hotel in this excellent location is in this terrible condition and finally i found out that the owner of the hotel will change, probably within the next weeks. I hope, next Spring, the hotel will be totally different, under the new management.

Basic room in a great location.
If you don't plan to spend anytime in your room like we didn't, then this hotel is good. In a great location close to Elli Beach, nice Greek restaurants, 10min walk to the beautiful Old Town and right opposite the Rhodes casino (although we didn't even go in lol) room is extremely basic but very clean. Staff were lovely and waited to check us in at 1am as they heard our flight was delayed. Also great with recommendations. Assisted us in booking a hire car to drive around the island which was great.

Husband and I Stayed here for one night. It Was good for the price and just for a place to sleep. We Didn't like the breakfast though, very plain and not many options. The location was good and the desk man was friendly enough. Would not recommend staying here for more than one or two nights maximum. You get what you pay for.

a well run small and friendly hotel, 100m from the beach, 5 mins from mandrake harbour and 10 minutes from Rhodes old town. this is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful town of Rhodes and for beach and sun lovers.

Good Value for your money
The hotel is well located as to closeness of airport bus stop. The hotel is clean and the staff is very friendly. The receptionist also gave good advise on car rentals prior to our visit.

Great Location
Although a bit older, this hotel is in a great location, with very friendly and helpful staff. It is with in a short walking distance to the old town, the beach, and new town shopping areas, as well as a variety of restaurants. We stayed in March, so we were off-season. The breakfast was good, but alas, no fruit! Good value for the price of the room.

Convenient location, friendly staff
The hotel is on the older side, but the price and location made it a pleasant stop on our honeymoon. Being in Rhodes town make it a popular choice as it is centrally located. The price was attractive as well. There are several restaurants in the close vicinity.

Fabulous Hotel close to Medieval Town & the beach
Great value for money with a very warm welcome upon arrival. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Toiletries are provided as was the hairdryer in the bathroom. (coffee making facilities would have been a bonus)! The staff are very friendly and helpful and that covers all the shifts! The Hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the beach and a 15 minute walk to the Old Medieval Town. There is a great little pub 2 minutes down the road...Johnny's Bar...well worth a visit! As is the casino opposite! The Hotel restaurant serves excellent "value for money" food! You also receive a 10% discount. Although there is WiFi in the Hotel it doesn't work very well in all bedrooms, but great reception down in the breakfast room, lobby and terrace. There is also an internet cafe on the 1st floor. Whether you are staying a couple of nights or a couple of weeks I can highly recommend this fantastic Hotel. I am already looking to rebook with even more friends for next year!!

Excellent Location
Well located hotel, within walking distance to old Town, sea front and good restaurants. The hotel's own restaurant has a varied menu, with a lot of fresh products and good discount for residents. Even though my room overlooked the street, it was not noisy. Clean room. The TV and chipped tiles in the bathroom deter me from giving it a higher rating. To watch TV is awkward as it is very high up. A flat screen at a lower level would enhance the comfort aspect.

Chose this hotel based on reviews - they were not wrong. Excellent price, even incredible price. Warm hosts. Nice clean rooms equipped with everything we need. Nothing too much problem, including a free pick-up from the ferry port. Convenient position, nothing too far away and supermarkets and restaurants almost next door, with the city centre only moments away. If you are a budget traveller, you are not likely to find better than this.

We stayed 2 nights in June. 15-20 minutes walking distance to old town, 2 minutes distance Elli beach. (Main beach rhodes town). Very helpful and friendly frontline staff, like all mediterrenan people. Breakfast is ok, it was included in our price. Rooms are clean. Stay here!

City Center for the city center.
For a budget hotel, you could not ask for more. An ideal location, close to all the wonders of the old town, restaurants, cafe's and the beach. The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced, and as someone who has to be careful what they eat, the range of healthy options was quite delightful. I cannot believe that the chef has not been "headhunted" by some more snazzy upmarket establishment.

Good value and secure
Given the price this hotel was great for a single traveller. The room is a little old but clean, comfortable and most importantly secure. Free breakfast and Wi-Fi made it all simple. It is located across the road from the casino which is a universally known landmark (easy to find) and I was able to walk to the ferry terminal with a backpack without too much effort.

Good hotel with friendly staff, close to the old town and sea. Exellent breakfast with nice choice of dishes. Lift, cozy rooms, everyday room-cleaning. Free wi-fi. One inconvinience is a bad noise isolation. All guests have 10% discount in hotel restaurant, but we strongly recommend Nikos restaurant not far from City Center Hotel. If we wouldn't find it we would think that greek cuisine is not tasty.

Very Pleasant Stay
Spent four nights at this hotel, extremely pleased with helpful service,clean, large rooms but the greatest benefit was the extensive free breakfast withall you might want or need. And I was quite impressed with the priceconsidering the location and convenience to the Old City and the harbor.

One of the Best
I've been traveling for a number of weeks and this hotel ranks very high..the price was extremely reasonable, rooms pleasant but the real benefit was the breakfast which was free..what a spread..breads, cheese, eggs,bacon,olives, fresh fruit ,tasty coffee...desk staff was friendly and helpful..would certainly return ..The location a short 15 minute walk fromharbor and Old City.

Excellent Central Hotel
Very friendly staff who helped us throughout our stay. The rooms are of a good 3 star standard and to be fair I have stayed in worse UK 4 stars!! The room was cleaned very day to a high standard and the hotel is very clean throughout. Therefore cannot be faulted for the price paid (so expect the Ritz). The location is ideal for exploring Rhodes New and Old Town (15 mins) and wonderful evening walks long the harbour. However there are no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, but staff are happy for you to take hot water from the lobby machine. Therefore I would recommend a travel kettle if needed. Very nice spacious room. Location of hotel is very central, just a few minutes walk to the beach & many shops & restaurants in the local area. Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok but little variety & no fruit available. Staff were very friendly & even allowed me a late check out on my departure date.

This hotel is really in the center of Rhodes.
City Center Hotel is a unique story.Nice things first Price for a true city hotel is the lowest around. The hotel is situated in one of the best cross roads in the city just across the Rhodes casino and 100mr from the "Eli" beach. It has excellent cafe and the whole picture when you enjoy your coffee outside,is top rate You could sit for hours ! You have everything you could ask for, just a few feet away. And i mean everything from a pharmacy to a doctor or a super market.The Lady in the reception is a plus for the hotel and the people that serve your drinks in the cafe get a 9 plus too. Oooops i forgot ...the elevator works just fine for an old hotel. So you pick up your key ,and straight for the nice elevator and Ooooops you open the door towards the corridor ! Be prepared. If our rating until now,was a 9 plus and even a 10 for the price, well the rest of the story is not good ( in most parts ) .Corridor is narrow. Painting everywhere is old and worn. Doors are old and the interior ones ( bath) sometimes refuse to close :) !The overall " inside the room" picture is POOR. You expect alot more because the outside impressions are miles above THIS.But , but , but the bath has everything you need and hot water is there even in the early morning. The towels should not be left on a small chair. Please hang the towels ! Balcony is superb for morning coffee. The room cleaner does a good work .Skip the morning bouffet. Finally YES i will stay there next time i visit Rhodes .

I've always liked the City Center Hotel. The staff are the friendliest in any hotel I've ever stayed in. However we had to move rooms this time around because of cockroaches in the bathroom. Th esurrounding area was dirty. Th ecouncil (or equivalent authority are not cleaning the streets. they do not spray against mosquitos properly. I used to stay in the City Center for a week on my way home from Turkey, but now i only stay the one night because of the mosquitos. next year I may not stay at all. I stayed 4 weeks in Turkey not one bite. one night in Rhodes and and I am covered in bites

Lovely hotel, easy to find from the bus stop using the directions on the website, very nice staff, helpful and friendly. Noisy in our room at the front the first night but we asked to be moved to a quiet room at the back for the rest of our stay and this was done without any trouble. Very good breakfasts, Internet access if you want it, plenty of maps, info and weather reports. Lots of nice eating places just round the corner although the Hotel did a good menu. In all a very good place to stay.

Location wasn't bad. Front desk service was the worst. My friends had to stay at another hotel because they overbooked their reservation, and when they came to pick me up, the front desk wouldn't let them up, and when he called me, he hung up on me. Never again. Very rude. The Blue Sky is a better location with a pool and beach access. Price is about the same.

Very good value for money .... perhaps a bit noisy from certain rooms but this is to be expected. Get a room on a side street as high as possible. The restaurant below is very pleasant and hotel clientel get a 10% reduction on all meals and drinks.

This hotel is about 1km from the old town of Rhodos. The staff are friendly & helpful. The casino is across the road if that is your poison! There is a fabulous contemporary art gallery 300metres away. A few bars, restaurants, coffee shops, general store, pharmacy, the aquarium, etc etc are very handy.

CITY BREAK WITHIN AN ISLAND VILLAGE HOLIDAY
I spent the last 2 nights of an 11 night trip to Rhodes at the end of the 2011 season. My previous nights were in Lindos and I came to stay in Rhodes town to go view some rental propertys close by. I booked and paid my first night online which was straight forward - sadly on deciding to stay the second night the Visa machine was out of service and i had to go to an ATM on the morning of my departure. But was not a problem. Breakfast was pleasant and generally my stay was fine although people in neighhouring rooms on my floor did have loud conversations from one end of the hall to the other at all hours which was disturbing and a little disconcerting to a female travelling alone. Sadly the WIFI signal did not reach the rooms but I was able to plug my powerlead into the mains in the breakfast area and sit and use the wifi there . Although this was not comfortable for all day use and i ended up wandering off to find a neighbouring coffee shop with cosy sofas to sit for a few hours. Overall - the staff were friendly and helpful and in general i would say that my stay there was very nice. i would definately stay there again. Very low cost but decent standard and service - thank you City Center Hotel.

The location of this hotel, for its great price, couldn't be better - just a short walk to the harbour and the old town, in an area of lovely restaurants, all very affordable. Very friendly and helpful staff, happy to go out of their way for us. Great breakfast spread. Would definitely stay here again, and definitely recommend to others!

wonderful proprietor at a very comfortable hotel
I stayed at the City Centre Hotel in Rhodes for one night, en route from Corfu to Kalavarda. It was everything I wanted, and reasonably priced, but the big bonus was the attitude of the hotel proprietor, who helped me out with a couple of problems to do with car hire, and also was kind enough to let me use his office to print out my boarding passes for our return journey, which I'd been unable to do in the UK. Really good personal service counts for a lot. I will certainly stay there again should circumstances require.

It took us quite a bit of time locating the hotel. We arrived in Rhodes by ferry and guided by google maps, we tried to reach there through the old town (the hotel was stated to be 10mins from the old town). However, no-one knew of the hotel and some were even puzzled by the address (copied from Expedia). The room was clean but the furniture looked somewhat old. The bathroom shower had a latch to support the showerhead which fell off when I tried to use it. We were not provided with daily change of soap/shampoo as is expected in a hotel. The balcony of our room faced another hotel which had gone out of business. The room amenities in the expedia website mentions "Wireless high-speed Internet access (complimentary)". We were informed by the reception that free internet access was only available in the hotel lobby; for internet in the room, we had to purchase a card (various time options). They could not provide the card we wanted over the four days we stayed there. It's good we had our own laptop, for the other computers in the lobby charged 1 euro for 20mins use. Once in the hotel, the receptionists tried to help as much as they could with directions, bus timings, etc.. The hotel is indeed a 10min walk from one of the gates of the old town and once you got used to the location, it was okay. There are quite a few eateries in the locality, so we did not use the 10% discount card provided for the restaurant on the ground floor.

As the name suggests this hotel is ideally placed in the centre of the main town, with plenty of shops/restuarants near by. Beach/harbour is only a few hundred metres away. If you are into gambling the casino is directly opposite the hotel. Even though the hotel was a little dated everything was more than enough to mean a very enjoyable stay, staff were very helpful and rooms a good size with air con and a fridge that actually works. Breakfast was more than adequate with eggs, bacon, mushrooms, suassages on top of the normal cereals,bread ham, cheese, cakes etc that you normally only get in other hotels in greece( well at least the ones I have stayed at) I would be happy to stay at this hotel again if visiting rhodes in the future
