Very helpful staff from check-in to getting bags in the hotel to room, asking for restaurant recommendations, printing a letter, etc. They were great! Room clean, comfortable. Loved the rain showerhead. Junior suite was roomy enough for our needs. Breakfast offered a great selection of fresh, healthy and tasty options plus great coffee and friendly service. Convenient location. Would stay here again.

All staff members were extremely friendly. Beds were very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. If you’re looking for a place close to many attractions, this is the one! I’d for sure book a stay here again.

We had a great stay at Sand Hotel. It is very conveniently located with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The rooms were super comfortable and quiet. The only downside was parking, which was a bit more difficult to find and then required walking with luggage for quarter of a mile.

The concierge staff was excellent. They were very welcoming and assisted me with my tour and transportation reservations. The breakfast had something for everyone and the staff was immediately on top of every detail. I would suggest that the hotel offer early arrivers an early check in at no additional cost. It would improve the customer service.

You are right in the center of town here, and the staff was so sweet and helpful. We missed the free breakfast, but it looked delicious! Beds were super comfortable and the room was clean. Super walkable and a lot around. Nothing bad to say here!

Literally the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Breakfast buffet was . Staff were super helpful with getting outings booked.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay. The breakfast buffet offered a large variety of foods and everything was fresh. The hotel's location was ideal for walking around Reykjavik. It is close to everything. The rooms we had were small but had lovely amenities. We would recommend the Sand Hotel and we would stay here again.

Hotel details
This hotel is classified as 4 stars, but consider the size of the room, it should not be one. Staff are excellent and helpful. Shower is great. Breakfast could run 30 min longer to 10:30. Hotel is on a “No cat sone”, watch out when you arrange your pick up service. Hotel location is excellent, good for shopping, sightseeing and dinning.

This property was perfect as a home base for our adventures. The room was quaint, the shower water pressure was on point, the staff was helpful and so friendly and nice. Its location allowed us to wing it as it was walkable to everything you could need with a fun, feisty vibe.

This hotel is located in the heart of Reykjavik. It’s walking distance to many sites, restaurants and bars. The tour bus pick up is blocks away. The breakfast served at the hotel was great, the bakery next door Sanholt is amazing. I didn’t rent a car for our stay, we walked and booked tours. It worked out perfect. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent staff, location, breakfast. Super kind and friendly front desk staff. Our room faced street and was a bit noisy when street cleaning was happening first thing in the morning. Parking not on site, but pretty easy to find street or multistory car park.

Highly recommend!
Mynde at the front desk went above and beyond to help us figure out which tours and to book them. She also gave great restaurant recommendations and never made us feel like we were bothering her! We enjoyed the hotel very much. The room was nice, beds were very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. We requested an upgrade as we felt quite tight in the standard room and as we had travelled with another couple who also booked a standard room, we requested to be near each other. Reception staff immediately moved us all. They were always keen to chat and advise us - this being our first cold destination. The hotel is clean, the rooms immaculate, breakfast is great although no hot options provided. We intend to return.

The property is located along the main shopping street in Reykjavik with many restaurants nearby. The hotel staff was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure a great guest experience. I highly recommend it.

Amazing stay at the Sand Hotel. The property is in walking distance to restaurants/bars and shopping. Easy to get on the highway for traveling outside of the city as well. The hotel staff was very accommodating and made our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend staying here!
