Zentral gelegen, sauber und kompetentes Personal

Posted 25-Sep-2016

Pros: Location
Cons: Room needed upgrading but it was clean.
Location: See above
Great location - in the middle of Reykjavik, walking distance to the Museums, galleries, superb restaurants. Iceland was an unexpected gem.

Great location, walking distance to all shopping.

Staff were great very helpful and friendly. (Especially Dave) Only downfall was the noise from the club across the street on a Saturday night, but we were so tired from our flight it didn't bother us.

Wonderful hotel in center of Reykjavik

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: The room was spacious, the staff answered questions honestly, breakfast was delicious and the location was excellent!
Cons: Perhaps the gym could be free of charge.
Location: Its in the center of the shopping area and you can easily get all over the city. There are many shops and restaurants within steps!
Perfect location and a wonderful and friendly staff! The hotel was very clean, upscale and a lovely experience. The breakfast was great too. Best hotel experience we have had in a long time. Will definitely come back here!

close to shops, restaurants and night life

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: The staff are from all around the world, extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Triple glazing on the front windows. There is too much furniture in the rooms, it is too big for the small rooms so it felt cramped. More drawers.
Location: on a side road, just off from the main shopping street. Very easy to walk to supermarkets, restaurants and bars. 10 min walk to harbour.
Unfortunately the front of the hotel overlooks a side road and right next to the hotel is a bar. The noise from this on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights goes on until about 4am. The hotel windows are double glazed but the noise was horrendous. Changing rooms did help somewhat. The lighting in the rooms is also very bad. Lights not positioned directly over the beds so that you can read. The cold water is safe and tastes wonderful however. Breakfast in the hotel was a bit repetitive - we were there for 6 days.

Ideal Location

Posted 19-Sep-2016
Pros: The staff and breakfast buffet.
Location: Perfect location for shopping and visiting the variety of restaurants.
This hotel is steps away from many restaurants, shopping, and other sites in Reykjavik. It was clean, decorated nicely, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. There's no question where we will stay next time in Rekjavik.

Location Location!

Posted 17-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, and wonderful staff who were ALWAYS very helpful
Cons: Noise - but it is located IN THE CITY! One should expect that when booking!
Location: City center - everything is nearby! Get off your bottom and see it all!!!! Was there in 1984 and the entire city looks different, updated...bigger
Clean, friendly/helpful, terrific breakfast and great location! Maybe a touch loud a couple nts but this is center of CITY!...and I understand that. We knew that before booking hotel and are very pleased we did. Front desk people were wonderful and helpful. We walked the entire city - and I mean all over - but we were picked up for our full 1 day tour (Golden Circle by minibus) and 2day Tour Jokulsarlon w/ Glacier Hike, Boat Tour & south Coast Waterfalls.....both tours were wonderful and learning experience.

best hotel of our trip

Posted 17-Sep-2016
Really friendly staff were always happy to help out and give us tips about our trip. No parking lot but pretty easy to find close street parking (in September) at a good price. Room was nicely decorated and comfy. Excellent modern bathroom. Breakfast was fantastic: great selection and quality of food. Will defiantly stay here again next time we visit Iceland!!

Warm Place in Iceland's Capital

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Everything is expensive in Iceland. It's ironic that some very cheap flights can get you there, but then.... Our hotel felt good value for a deluxe double ($300/night including taxes). The room was large and modern with a comfortable leather L-shaped sofa to nap on. The breakfast was a lavish buffet and included some Icelandic specialties. Location, location, location: Reykjavik is a very walkable city. The hotel is a few feet from a main pedestrian shopping street, yet is quiet. If walking isn't for you, public transportation and taxis are plentiful. A rental car is a problem to park and on-street payments run up to $18 a day. There are many day trips by bus that would get you to see popular sights outside the capital. Car rental is expensive; many roads are narrow (or sometimes single-lane. Of course, there's always the possibility of intermittent showers -- or a real rain (we were there in early Sept.). The staff were always very helpful: for example, one receptionist walked my laundry to a nearby sister hotel because the washing machine was being repaired.

Excellent stay and excellent location

Posted 10-Sep-2016
Pros: Beds were comfortable. Nice bathroom and shower. Breakfast was very good and lots of options.
Cons: More lighting in the room.
Location: Location is great. Located just off the main street that takes you to Hallgrimskirkja.
Great location, clean, very helpful staff, and yummy breakfast. We had issues trying to figure out how to pay for parking and the concierge came outside and helped us. She also provided helpful information and directions.
