Boutique hotel

Posted 18-Sep-2017
After having a hard time finding this hotel we were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. A word of warning if you are driving there. The hotel is on a small side street off the main street. After much navigating through one way streets we finally found it! Another warning you have to park on the street and pay. If you don't need a car, don't get one. Once in the hotel we had a wonderful time. The staff is warm and friendly and if you need anything all you have to do is ask. The restaurant was wonderful. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of foods which should satisfy everyone. This hotel is centrally located in the city and within walking distance to most attractions. I would highly recommend it! Had a fantastic time!

stylish, friendly hotel in centre of Reykjavik

Posted 18-Sep-2017
Loved the funky design of this hotel. Very comfortable bed. Not a lot of storage space for a long stay but fine for our short break. Room very clean, good facilities (kettle, tea, coffee, mini bar, ironing board, hairdryer) and nice toiletries. Right in the middle of town close to loud clubs and bars (weekends) which the hotel does state on its web site. We asked for a quiet room which the hotel did allocate, we were on the 3rd floor at the back, was fine noise wise....on Friday we did have to shut the windows and put the fan on though so do be warned as there are other hotels in this chain in quieter locations. Staff were so friendly and helpful the whole time, and replied to email queries that we had before we arrived with incredible speed. Buffet breakfast was good with a wide choice. Isafold restaurant was lovely...great food, attentive but not intrusive service and very welcoming. No car parking at site, so if you hire a car you'll have to use the public car parks ......or do as we did and hire a car for a day (easy walk to good car hire companies) and just get the shuttle bus from and to the airport. great location for getting everywhere in town on foot as so central and Reykjavik is beautiful.

Great location

Posted 16-Sep-2017
Pros: Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, in midst of shops/restaurants, easy walk to waterfront.
Cons: A little more space in the room!
Location: It is necessary to walk, with luggage, to a bus stop for all tour and airport transport.
Arrived in the middle of the night, enjoyed two sunny days of sightseeing, and had dinner at two local restaurants where the average price of entree was about $50. Prices on everything seemed very high to us. On our departure day, we had requested a wake-up call at 3:30AM, which never came (fortunately we were awake anyway), but they did provide the much- appreciated coffee and croissant at 4:00 AM.

Average Hotel

Posted 14-Sep-2017
Pros: close to everything we needed
We had a terrible start,we flew in at 5 am and the room was not ready till about 10 am,even after I emailed them to see if our room would be ready at that time. When we did get the room,it was dirty from past guests or they did not clean it.Samuel tried his best. The TV did not work for 4 of our nights there,we asked and they said it was network problems. The breakfast was ok,even though it was the exact same everyday. The staff at the restaurant were awesome.

Centrally located and quiet

Posted 10-Sep-2017
Pros: Helpful staff. A receptionist at the wrong CenterHotel actually walked me to the right one (central Reykjavik is not a large area).
Cons: Safe is inconveniently high up, one lamp was out, and the wardrobe sliding doors need oil or something--but overall there's great comfort, nice bed.
Location: Lots of tourist shopping and places to eat nearby. Museums and pickup spots for tours are within a few minutes walking distance.
First, make sure you have the street address of the hotel. There are 6 CenterHotels in Reykjavik , and I got dropped off at the wrong one! Once settled, though, this is a nice place. There are minor inconveniences in the room--the safe is on a high shelf and a person of average height can't see inside, for example--but the room is comfortable and the staff are very keen to please. I recommend the hotel restaurant, Isafold, as well.

Loved it!

Would definitely stay there again! Perfect location....could easily walk anywhere! The breakfast buffet is wonderful ....lots and lots of delicious choices....including fresh fruit! Great coffee! So convenient... A great way to start the day... A huge time and money saver!!! Great and friendly staff! Rooms are on the small size... But Great showers!!! Comfy bed and pillows and comforters! Loved the couches in the lobby... Could get a drink from the bar and sit and relax there! Had been concerned about the street noise factor from reading other reviews.... Had asked for a room on a higher level and in the back of the hotel.... However our room was on the first floor and in the front .... But the noise from the street was no problem at all at night if you kept the window closed. Would highly recommend this hotel!!!

Room and bathroom too small

Posted 04-Sep-2017
Riom in the attic meaning a third of it was not reachable because of low ceiling The bathroom was tiny hardly place to stand in the shower and couldn't avoid the water going out because there was only a Curtain. Nit worth the outrageous price

Great location in heart of Reykjavik

Posted 30-Aug-2017
This hotel is very well situated in downtown Reykjavik. The complimentary breakfast was very good. For our personal taste we found the hotel kind of dark and we frequently bumped our heads as the bed in our room was situated in a small window enclave. But the staff was very friendly and helpful and the complimentary arrival and departure gifts were a nice touch.
