Close to everything

Posted 17-Jul-2017
Pros: Pretty much everything and specially their restaurant. Good for both breakfast and dinner.
Cons: No much they can do about the building on their left, looks rundown. It greatly detracts from the excellent modern entrance to the Thingholt.
Location: See above
Thingholt is in the very center of town. Within a 10 minute walk , there is the Art Museum(very good), old port (whale & Puffin watching), very good restaurants. We liked the one in the hotel and next door Sushi Social. The Stekhouis at old port was outstanding. Parks and opera house are within a few steps. Staff was very helpful. They made reservations for tours and restaurants, recommended things to do and sent us to The Standard, a very good bakery on the main street, a real jewel. Rooms were clean, comfortable, modern and reasonable priced.

nice hotel, but avoid weekends

Posted 17-Jul-2017
Pros: Modern and good breakfast
Cons: Noise control
The hotel is modern and in a good location. Breakfast buffet is nice as well. BUT on Friday and Saturday nights there are multiple clubs in the neighborhood that crank the music until 4:00 AM. We complained, but the staff said there was nothing they could do but offer us ear plugs.

5 days in Reykjavik

Posted 06-Jul-2017
We like the hotel. Best parts are: the staff, the breakfast, the bedding, and the atmosphere. Improvements could be made to the window treatments in the "jr. Suite." Why no black out shades or curtains? The hallways are very dark as well. We would come back, the hotel is very nice and the staff even nicer.

Centrally Located Hotel

Posted 28-Jun-2017
Pros: The friendly front desk staff made our stay easy and enjoyable. They always greeted us with a smile and were quick to help in any way they could.
Cons: The frosted bathroom walls provided very little privacy and there were no black-out curtains which posed a challenge when there's 24 hours of sunlight
Location: The hotel was within easy walking distance to a number of key landmarks. There was no shortage of incredible restaurants and things to do.
Awesome hotel in the heart of everything! Great location and incredible staff.

Great stay in a great hotel.

Posted 27-Jun-2017
Pros: The staff and the location
Cons: No views from the rear rooms of the hotel. We were surprised and disappointed to see that guests had to pay to use the spa pool.
Location: Location is excellent. We were able to walk to everywhere in the city centre. It is just off the main street, so close to shops, bars and restaurants.
We had a fabulous 3 night stay at this hotel. Quirky, comfortable and fantastic location. One of the best things about this hotel is the excellent staff. Always helpful and friendly, going that extra mile to make our stay into a great one. Andrea on reception was just so friendly and helpful.

Great hotel for a single occupant...

Posted 28-May-2017
Pluses: very close to downtown party and shopping scene. Decent breakfast included. Very nice staff. Minuses: the loud drunks that will keep you up every night, poor room design that heavily favors aesthetics over functionality, Glass wall that partitions the bathroom from the rest of the room... Overall, I wouldn't even consider staying here again simply because it failed at its core mission, providing a comfortable room to sleep in.

Location is great

Posted 16-May-2017
Location is fantastic. It is walking to most things in Reykjavik. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! It included waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon and much more. Water pressure was very good. Only cons are the shower was very tight and on the weekends at night it is loud due to a nearby bar/nightclub. Overall was great and would stay there again.

Great hotel and professional staff right in the heart of the city.
