The 2 night ibis stay was disappointing - staff were very friendly and helpful but the room was shabby and there was mildew in the bathroom, the room was not serviced before second night. The room needs a refurbishment.

I would recommend this hotel..
Stayed for 2 nights.. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was nice lively decoration and the bed was comfy overall would recommend and I would stay again

You Pay = What you get!
Two camp beds in a small room. Mouldy shower gel and no accessible soap to wash your hands after going to the toilet. Awful food. Dry, burnt fish and chips in a tiny syofoam box that cost £10.50 (no peas or veg)! All non-alcoholic drinks were high caffeine, high sugar. Breakfast - I made a couple of specific requests because of allergies. These were ignored! I could have used the bacon as a throwing star it was so hard.

Great Place
Great stay. Convenient location, helpful staff and nice rooms. I (rather foolishly) left my iPad in the room when i left. Had almost given up on it but i rung reception and they sent someone up to the room and found it fir me. Excellent !

Smack head trying to kick doors in before police apprehended him blood over door/ his room had wraps on bed, my door tried whilst in bed and constant shouting in corridors might as well have been a hostel for immigrants

Awful!!!
The Bed we stayed had visible bed bugs!! I got bitten so badly had to change rooms then when moved the staff said it’s a problem they have to then go in a room with the heating on full blast, awful experience and certainly won’t be going back!

There was no running water for the last night of my stay in the entire hotel - not the fault of the staff - but there was no attempt to re-accomodate at another nearby hotel (eg. another Ibis). They did recompense with a coupon for a free night's stay, but it is not likely that I will have a chance to use it.

The beds and pillows were.far too hard and you had to turn the shower on 10 minutes before you wanted to use it in order for the water to get hot.

The temperature of the water in the shower was stuck on the max hot level could not change it scalding hot Hotel bed so hard that i might as well slept on the floor Had to pay £6 for parking And the pain hundred pound for one night our finest on acceptable I will be looking for a refund of at least half my money I’ll pay for this room

Average Hotel in a Dodgy Area
Room was very comfortable but had a stale smell about it, especially in the bathroom. My room was located on the lower ground which was fine as it was very quiet. but the view from the window was a brick wall 1m away (not a big issue for a business stay!). This may have also contributed to the smell. Breakfast was adequate - continental style with some fresh items. Was a little disappointed to be charged so much for a hotel that is so far out of town (approx 35 minutes walk). Alas, this is not uncommon for Reading. Hotel is not located in the best of areas - would not advise trying to reach the hotel on foot.

Disgraceful Check In Process
Being accused of being a potential pedophile and refusing access to my room because I had my own children with me but did not have their passports is ridiculous. I'm British and have never been asked for passports in my own country. The check in system is an absolute joke, especially as I spoke to the hotel before leaving home and no one asked for me to bring a passport.
