Across the street from the Reading train station but quiet because we had a room facing the alley. Affordable and within minutes walk to the shopping and sights of Reading.

Great hotel and friendly staff. Dinner and breakfast very good. Could not control room temperature however and duvet very thick. Hence restless nights sleep. Otherwise fine.

Better hotels in Reading.
Room was tired. Shower was scalding hot then freezing cold randomly. Toilet seat cracked in half. USB sockets didnt work. No mini bar or fridge. Pushed to not take room service. Really for the suggest class of hotel I wouldnt recommend or stay their again.

Room was too hot and heating and a/c control did not work to control the heating. Cold water tap was running warm water. Had to leave this running for about 6 mins before water actually turned cold. Have stayed in hotel many times before and not experienced these problems. Considering price I paid £282 (Half board) the quality of room was really not worth it. Had an awful night sleep. Also note for half board I’d specifically asked what I’d be charged extra for and was told drinks only plus supplement for steak. When asked to sign, the bill was for full value which I was told was just the way they do things then next day found that I’d been charged for service on full value of food and drinks on top. If I’d been told this at the time I’d have been ok paying, but felt a bit scammed as I’d specifically asked. At reception they then spent about 20 mins to explain and remove the extra charge which then meant no time for breakfast which I’d effectively paid as it was in the half board rate. All in all very disappointing and not sure if I’ll return again. Quite sad as used to be my favourite place to stay in Reading :-(

Amazing stay!!
Amazing stay at reading Mal. Room beautiful and comfortable. Service great. Breakfast lovely and cocktails at the bar gorgeous. It’s clear that whilst the hotel was amazing it is a little bit tired in places but they were doing some works whilst we were there so they are clearly On it. We will come again

Just across road from train station & in the town centre breakfast was great👍 The hotel is nice the issues we had 1. Very cold hotel on first night but reception was great put extra heater in room 👍 the bar area was cold as well. 2. Bar staff charged staff gratuity on bar meals when ordering at bar when asked why cost of burger meals was higher we were just told it’s the gratuity 😩 All in all still worth staying and will go back at some point

We enjoyed our weekend stay at Malmaison Reading. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The room was neat and stylish. Equipped with the usual amenities, iron and board, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. Our room had a fridge, which we hadn't realised we were getting which was a nice bonus. We would recommend the hotel.

Great deal
We stayed here overnight for attending a football match. Great central location. 1 minute from the train station. We had a great deal through hotels.com which included a full breakfast. Staff were friendly. Room and bed comfortable. Would stay here again

Had to wait 40 minutes past check in time because the room (308) wasn't ready. Paid for the deluxe club room, would not say that the bathroom was deluxe. Old, tired, cheap looking bath and shower tray. Trying to get ready for our plans, already in a rush due to delayed check-in, engineer turns up to look at our sink because someone on a floor below was having problems with theirs and we were the 'top of the loop', so that delayed us even more. Weird tapping noise coming from the ceiling all night. Got up in the morning and found out hot tap for the shower didn't work. Not at all, you turned the hot tap on and nothing came out. Had to leave without showering, as we didn't fancy an ice cold shower. The staff were all very nice and professional, and the bar was great for coffee and cocktails.

Fab girls night out
Lovely clean rooms and facilities. beds are so comfortable. Quiet and quite sound proofed rooms. The staff were excellent at all hours day and night. They were able to hold our luggage in storage after we had checked out to allow us to wander around Reading. Breakfast amazing, cooked and buffet. Yum! A really good selection of pastries and cereals, cooked breakfast delicious, Really pleasant stay and definitely recommend for stay and night out in Reading.

The hotel has a wonderful location in the centre of Reading with great shopping and dining options. It is a minutes walk to the station with all its transport options. The staff are lovely - friendly and helpful. This hotel is my go to when visiting Reading.

Love staying at Malmaison hotels! The bed was so comfy and great amenities in the room with Nespresso, chocolates, biscuits and air conditioning (which was much needed in this heatwave) the breakfast in room was delicious and I’ll be staying again!

Lovely stay
Another lovely stay at the Malmaison Reading. Great location in the city centre, friendly service, clean and decorated to a high standard. Stayed in a Junior Suite this time, it had plenty of room with a good sized bathroom. Always appreciate the little extras like chocolates and bottled water in the room. Only one minor thing was one set of lights not working so room felt a little dark at times, but the big bay window made up for that during the day so not a big issue.

Poor hotel maintenance
My daughter & I recently spend the night @ The Malmaison and found it rather disappointing. The water in the toilet would starting running for about 10 seconds and then a loud noise would occur for 2-3 seconds. This would occur every 4-5 minutes throughout our stay. The staff tried to be accommodating, however maintenance was not on duty and there were no other rooms available ( there were 2 other empty rooms, but apparently they also had issues which were worse than ours). We were told to try wearing ear plugs & closing the bathroom door. Even with the door closed you could still hear the commotion from the toilet. In the end our bill was adjusted to accommodate our inconvenience. Also even though the room description on Hotels.com stated a free bottle of water, we were told it was alright to drink from the tap.
