Purely functional hotel with little charm. Entrance and dining room nicely decorated and modern. Check in and out was simple and easy. Room was large but disappointing with stained carpets and paint dropping off the ceiling. Breakfast was full english and was OK.
Found the hotel lovely, room clean and comfortable, staff helpful. We where visiting family so didn't have time to see or use hotel facilities so can't really comment on them. But hopefully we will be back and can try them next time.
We came to the UK for my youngest daughters wedding. Coordinating travel, lodging, food, luggage etc. was a nightmare. arriving at the Novotel was like a breath of fresh air. The suite we were first assigned to was on the 10th floor, and was very comfortable, after three very intense sightseeing days, (mini bus tour into London by the grooms father in the pouring rain, train ride to Windsor Castle, with the wedding party and my future son-in-law) Amenities at the hotel were very relaxing the pool and exercise area were very relaxing, nearness to various shopping venues, train station,(2 blocks) ideal. My wife and I even got to experience the National Health Service first hand and they didn't even require payment. Our trip to England and particularly the stay at the Reading Centre Novotel was a very intense time event overload but relaxing all the same. We extend our thanks for the very professional staff and restaurant facility there at the Novotel.
Don't choose this hotel if you want a good nights sleep. Thin walls and poor sound insulation mean you can hear everything. Was constantly being woken up by people marching up and down the corridors. Ear plugs a must!

The staff were friendly and helpful, in particular the duty Manager, Carl, who went out of his way to assist with problems priniting off boarding cards for the following day's flight. We would certainly stay there again.
