We were greeted by an absolutely charming gentleman who made us feel very welcome (the resident pups are a gorgeous touch!) The location is perfect, and whilst the hotel itself is quite old, the rooms have a lovely boutique feel to them. A casual breakfast area is a nice touch to meet fellow travellers. Unfortunately the lady at reception in the morning was neither friendly nor helpful - if anything she was rather vague, but it is still on my preferred list for Sydney accommodation.
This is a great hotel to stay in for a number of reasons. Its location is very handy to the campus of UNSW as well as to the large Randwick hospitals and the Randwick racecourse. It is however also just a great location for a break, not as expensive as Bondi and a very easy couple of minutes’ walk to Coogee beach which is patrolled. There is a good supermarket right across the road should you wish to take advantage of the rooms cooking facilities or should you prefer not to cook there are many cafes and restaurants within 2-5 minutes’ walk away. A one bedroom apartment is very roomy and can have a nice wee balcony to sit on. We have stayed here numerous times and will do again. Good parking for an extra fee and they were happy for us to leave the car there after we checked out so we could wander down to the beach.
Great location close to the beach. Easy transport to the SCG. Staff happy to answer questions. As it was my kids first ever visit to the area, thought there may have been a special promotion but would still highly recommend.
Stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 nights over new years. The location was great, beach seemed less crowded than Bondi, had plenty of places to eat, close to supermarket, and had buses right outside. Nothing to complain about with the room.
Great apartment, good size, but for the money I paid for 10 days, I was very dissapointed with the unit I was allocated. It was on the 6th Floor but was street level. Given the unit was situated on the corner of the building, the noise from the road was a real issue, making it near impossible to utilise the terrace.
Randwick, a suburb of Sydney, was named after the village of Randwick in Gloucestershire, England. Its scenic location draws many visitors to Centennial Park, Botany Bay, and Coogee and Maroubra Beaches. The Royal Randwick Racecourse is a popular venue for horseracing enthusiasts and concert goers. Also located nearby are the University of New South Wales and the Randwick District Rugby Union Football Club’s Coogee Oval.
