"Hotel Plaza Yara exceeded my expectations. This was a last minute booking between two destinations. From the moment we stepped into reception till we left every encounter we had with the staff was gracious, helpful and filled with kindness. Our room was beautifully clean, spacious and complete with everything we could need for our stay. The breakfast choices were amazing and made to order and delicious. We were allowed to continue to use the amenities beyond our check out time which was great as we had some time to spare before leaving for our next destination. The art work on the gallery was so amazing. I would really like to bring some home with me. I haven't ruled that out as we need to pass by the hotel again on our way home. I highly recommend staying in this small and very thoughtful hotel. Pura Vida."

Anything we needed, they handled—private chef, tours, in-home massages, transportation into town—no stress, no guessing, just seamless coordination. That kind of support completely changes the experience.If you’re looking to actually unwind and not think about logistics, this is it. Honestly, it was even better than described, which rarely happens. Would go back without hesitation"

"The rooms were clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is noisy with loud music playing until late at night and dogs barking. In the room adjacent to mine someone was having an argument for about 45 minutes. Yelling could be heard clearly in my room even with the door closed."

"For $630 a night, this hotel is honestly a huge disappointment. You’d expect at least basic amenities, No tea bags, no bottled or filtered water in the room—I had to order room service just to get tea, which is ridiculous at this price point. The bathroom setup was equally underwhelming. Instead of proper toiletries, they only provide an all-in-one bottle—no separate shampoo, conditioner, or body wash. It feels like you’re getting cheap 2 star motel amenities while paying Four Seasons prices. The service didn’t help either. The front desk staff was rude, and one older gentleman was unnecessarily sarcastic when I asked about the room view. When I confirmed it, he responded that “of course you won’t see the view, it’s dark outside ,and rolled his eyes on me as if that wasn’t obvious. Completely unprofessional. Even the pool system felt cheap—you have to exchange towels for pool cards like it’s a budget hotel. The pool itself was crowded, though I’ll admit it was nice, and the jacuzzi was decent as well. The view was amazing. Overall, not worth the money at all. Way overpriced for what you actually get. You are only paying for the view. "

"We stayed in the toucan suite. It was a beautiful site up on the hill, but the hike up there was a little tough. Stairs were not built for an easy climb. The staff were friendly and helpful, but there were not enough of them. Our biggest disappointment was the food. The breakfast was great, but we had dinner before an excursion and it took forever to get our food. The salad was old and the rest of the food was just ok. Nothing special. They did however, discount our food somewhat when we parted our bill and explained which was satisfying. They also need some more comfortable reclining chairs at the pool as there was not much place for people to relax comfortably. Overall a nice place, but lacking in a couple of areas. It’s too bad because it wouldn’t take much to make it a much more enjoyable experience. "

"Spotless!!!!!!!! Nice smell. Location was perfect. Close to Manuel Antonio, and Quepos. So you get some jungle and some city. I would recommend some hooks on the wall to hang clothes. Everything else was top notch. Love the bathroom, the bed, the view and air conditioning "
