As soon as we checked in, we were told that there was a maintenance issue with the room and we had to switch to a different room.
The new room was not clean at all, with hairs and bloodstains in the bed and a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom.
We then switched rooms 5 more times, until we eventually found a room that was cleaned to a decent standard (all the other rooms had the same issues). This was over an hour after our initial check in. The manager then offered us a bottle of wine as compensation, neither of us drink wine so we asked for a discount instead. The manager was supposed to call later with confirmation but never did. I spoke to reception twice to ask for an update before finally having the discount confirmed.
Breakfast was disappointing, even by budget hotel standards. The bacon and sausage were pale and cold, and the hash browns were burnt. There weren’t as many options as you would expect for a hotel of its size. Couldn’t find any teaspoons and glasses and mugs were less than clean. Eventually found ones that were satisfactory.
Housekeeping is less than satisfactory with simple things that they should be doing like checking that the bedding doesn’t have hairs left on it or that there is shampoo/body wash in the bathrooms and that the toilets are flushed after they have cleaned it.
Definitely will not stay here again.
