    5/5 Excellent

An Idyllic Setting for Olympic National Park Exploration

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Elk House. Outside, the four private acres and creek gave us the kind of quiet privacy we value. It was conveniently located near both Lake Quinault Lodge and the entrance to the rain forest. Inside, the house was beautifully appointed with everything we needed. My bed upstairs was one of the most comfortable I've ever had in any vacation rental. A high recommendation for this beautiful property!

      5/5 Excellent

        This is priceless

We had the best time enjoying the most stunning property, ton inside and out.

Only thing missing were the Elk

Great location and home. Ver well supplied and beautiful. Had some friends of Cali along with us and they were hoping to see the elk. Told them of the small herd of 20 that come through our property and they were looking for your herd. As we all know they don't always show up. A very beautiful and private location. Reminded us of home...

This is a beautiful, fun property. The elk herd made their presence each morning 6-7 am and e

Upon arrival there was no toilet paper and the owner was notified. She said she would get some sent over. I told her we had purchased some and would not be home in the evening to receive it. I expected some to arrive the next day but it did not. If you are staying here make sure you bring paper products as there were no paper towels or tissues either. This was our first time to use VRBO and were surprised to find out there were no wash cloths. Is this standard not to supply wash cloths? Perhaps this could be noted? The towels and linens were very nice though. I need to let Hollie know the toaster only worked if you held the handle down and there was no iron. I find all these things easily fixable and I am sure Hollie will take care of it. The bed in the living room is a pull out from the ottoman and was most uncomfortable. We took every extra blanket we could find in the house to pad the mattress to make it "sleepable". For a house that can sleep so many people, there needs to be more than 4 cereal size bowls. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay there and would highly recommend it for a family.

            4/5 Good

              gorgeous

This is 4 acres of paradise. Everything was comfortable in the home. We would have wished for a couple of pots that weren't humongous, and we were glad we happened to have our own measuring cups. And we had to ration the toilet paper because we couldn't find any extra rolls, anywhere. Also we tried to contact the owners about gas for the grill since it was completely out and we received no response the whole time we were there, and still haven't had a response to that question. So I would recommend bringing all of those things with you! But if you are deciding based on this review whether to pick this place or not, pick it, cuz like I said, 4 acres of paradise. It's completely private, you can't see any neighbors unless you go to the corners of the property. Which you should do. Walk around. Go lie on the grass. It's completely and ethereally peaceful. Bring a football to toss cuz it's like a private park. The tv in the main room only had Fox news and some crummy channels you would never want to watch...so dont count on that for entertainment (or worthy news coverage). Just enjoy the quiet and the nice house :).
