The property is a mixture of old and new. Like many places it could do with some money being spent on it. The food was nice. The beer was fine. It is no high class establishment. But then you are not paying that sort of money. Lovely location. What didn’t I like? Bath in the room. These days everybody needs a shower. A sliding door in the toilet and a partition that allows you be intimate with every noise emanating from the person sitting within. That is the problem with an old building, trying to fit in facilities for the modern person. Aside from that. It was fine. Would I stay there again? Yes. Indeed, we are planning to if we manage to avoid another lockdown.

Could be a lovely hotel, needs a little TLC
Very difficult to review a hotel during these times. However, there is NO excuse for a dirty room especially during these times. The main sleeping area was actually really nice and the bed was very comfortable, the bunk beds saftey rail was loose and i was worried about my 6yr old sleeping up there. The adjoining bathroom bowever was a different story. There was a broken and dirty window. Mold everywhere. There was a stain on the side of the bath. The adjoining door wouldnt close properly and the shower door wouldnt open fully as it was being blocked by a ceiling joist. There was were cobwebs in the corners that have been there a while. The whole room just seemed very dated. There was toilet brush that seriously needs replacing as it looks like its been there since the 70's. During the evening we opened the window in the bedroom as it was getting hot in the room. However the window opened up onto a flat roof area seemingly near the kitchen as we were greeted by a smells from the kitchen. So we had to close it again. Id love to be able to review the food but we refused to eat here due to some of the reviews by other guests. I did approach someone at the hotel and told them of the issues in the bathroom and was told there was nothing they could do as no one was available to help. We left the hotel after checkin to visit a family member and returned early evening. Thankfully one or two of the issuee had been resolved by the time we got back.

Disappointed on this visit.
Lovely bed lovely staff were the good points. Didn’t Know when I booked on Mondays & Tuesday’s the bar & restaurant were closed. Had to drive miles for food as there was nothing about. Room was very big but also very cold. Would however stay again but not on a Monday or Tuesday.
