Nice hotel with great food and staff

Pros: The staff, Special thanks to Eddie, Bernarde, Carlos ,and Gilber, Awesome bar tenders. Lots of fun and good drinks.
Cons: The Pizza, They say its authentic Italian but not even close.
Location: The resort beach was white sand and good location, we did not leave the resort but they offered a lot of different excursions to do.
This was our first time to the Dominican Republic and it was wonderful. The weather was hot and sunny every day, only 10 minutes of rain the 6 days we were there. Sanctuary Cap Cana resort was a great pick to stay. I read a lot of good reviews and it lived up to expectations. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The food was probably a 9 out of 10, very good for an all inclusive resort. No reservations were required for most of the restaurants, only 2 required reservations which for us was great because we like to not have time constraints when we vacation. The resort was quiet and did not seem over crowded. You didn't have to be down to the pool bright and early to get a chair. They had activities every day at the pool which made it fun. The resort is very couples oriented since it is adults only. All in all we would definitely go back again. One other good thing was that nobody bugged us about time shares.

Great resort! Awesome staff! Great food!

Pros: The food, the grounds, the staff!
Cons: reciepts, and more beer choices
The place is nice. We went a week ago (Nov 1-5, 2017). It wasn't crowded by the pool, or the beach any of the days we were there. There's a volleyball net, horseshoe pits, ping pong in the pool/beach area. The grilled Caribbean Red Snapper (at Blue Marlin) was excellent! The buffet at Casa Bella was also great! Sanctuary Town is a small restaurant and entertainment "village" that the resort built. It is right outside of the front desk area, and the restaurants there are included in the all inclusive. If there were anything I would change, I wish there were more beer choices. You could only get Presidente and Canita. It is good, but wish there were more choices. The other thing I would change... they make you sign for things, but not consistently. Sometimes I would order a drink, and they would make me sign for it, other times they didn't. And the receipt the ask you to sign has a tip line on it, making you feel as though you should tip. They do this for accounting purposes, but I wish it were handled differently. Also, they charge for in-room wifi. I think it was $45 for the stay, or $12/day. We didnt pay for it... we would go to the lobby once in a while to connect to the free lobby wifi. I would come back!

Beautiful Resort , Great people

Sanctuary is truly a sanctuary

Pros: I liked the size of the facility.....small and friendly.....plenty of space for all. It is beautiful.
Cons: The quality of the liquor could be improved as well as the selection.j Upscale room service menu.. Improved lighting at outdoor stairways.
Location: it is right on the beach......spaced out room locations.......a central location for most activities Sanctuary town is not a worthy shopping area.
The staff was so courteous, attentive and always willing to go the extra mile to make the customer happy Have been to adults only all inclusive across the Caribbean and this ranks as one of the best ever! The grounds were lush, architecture beautiful and varied, pools and beach clean The food was very good with fantastic presentation......I was surprised that there wasn’t much fish offered. Tipping is not required. However, the staff is quite appreciative.

My wife and I stayed at the sanctuary for our anniversary, and it was so beautiful. The staff were excellent. Worth every cent!!!

Beautiful Room

Pros: It was pretty, spacious and comfortable.
Cons: A print out for just the restaurants with a map, the times, dress code, brief descriptions, photos and if you need reservations would be helpful.
Location: We could see the ocean and it was close enough to the pool and main restaurant that served breakfast.
I felt that this room was beautiful and luxuries. I did not have a bad meal here. It was fun after a day swimming to go back to the room and dress up for dinner. We went on the off season so it was a little quiet which would have been perfect if I was with my husband but I was with my daughter so she would have liked a little more night life. The people at the resort make you feel at home. They are very friendly. Tipping is expected but no one makes you feel like you have to. If you do not want to carry cash on you, you can just add it to your bill. I know some reviews commented about it being all inclusive and were bothered by still be expected to tip but the way I see it how is it different from anyplace in the US? I think that the people count on that little bit of extra income so I was more then happy to tip. The spa was wonderful. We had some kind voucher or credit that came with the trip. We used it at the spa but not sure if that is such a great deal. If your a person that likes to splurge on some upgrades then maybe they will be worth it to you.

Stunning location, food underwhelming though

We stayed here for our honeymoon. We upgraded to the Imperial Suite in the Castle. Great room views and having private pool was awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We experienced dissatisfaction with the food. We enjoyed the atmosphere at each restaurant, however the actual taste and range of food was underwhelming. We also had an issue with the safe in our room not opening and locking properly, and experienced the same issue with the door to our room. The pools and grounds are immaculately kept. Occasionally there were merchants within the grounds of the resort, this was a little distressing. Would highly recommend holidaying here! Overall it was fantastic.

Excellent staff

This is an older resort with needed facility upgrades and attention to detail. The staff was excellent: especially Nancy, JT, Noki(?) and Jose. The entertainment staff was very personable. The food was average. Would have preferred another breakfast option that was not a buffet. Restaurants were closed due to low occupancy of the resort. The special nightly ‘entertainment’ didn’t begin until 9:30pm or later and after a long day in the sun it felt too late, even an on time of 9pm would have been better. We had difficulty with our swim out room not being as advertised, but the staff went out of their way to find us a suitable room. Overall, our experience was nice and we may consider returning if/when new ownership upgrades are made.
