Excellent resort

Hotel was great. Accommodations were great. Did was not very good but can be overlooked with how great everything else was. Don't order room service.

Beautiful hotel, lacking entertainment

I visited this hotel in 2015 for my friends wedding at huracán café close by. I was excited to return because when I went in the summer it was a great experience. This time around, I found the same beautiful hotel but it was half empty, the food was just ok, the entertainment was nonexistent, and the bartenders were discriminating against any guest who was Dominican or Latino. If you are looking for a quiet hotel with very little entertainment where you can sit by the pool and beach and read a book then pick this one. If you want more of a party atmosphere or just overall better entertainment then go elsewhere. The best part of my stay was the explorers club. My six year old daughter was fascinated with all the activities they had planned everyday.

Wonderful beach and great service

Loved the beach, which had a large area with chairs spread out and which had lots of shaded chairs. It was never filled, so we could always find what we wanted. Staff was wonderful as was food - very healthy and well prepared. Problem was room. We were in Privilege room with two beds, which was what we requested. The noise from music by the pool was disturbing at night at times, other times they took it up by the main lobby, so we didn't hear it. The lighting in the room was so dim that we could hardly read at night and had to sit by window during the day to do so. The room was fairly clean, but the bathroom could have been better, such as washing down frame of mirror, which had dust and toothpaste splatters on it. But having the large shower stall with opaque door and separate room for toilet with opaque door was really nice for our privacy.. Very little Christmas activity, which we missed from prior years at other sites.

Very Good Experience

Pros: Everything
Cons: Better vodka choices
Location: Its near Palma Real shopping mall, and the resort is right in the middle of Playa Bavaro. You can walk up and down the beach for hours.
Resort was very clean, staff were friendly, room service was good and delivered on time. Nice pool and an overall great experience.

Great location

This is one of my favorite hotels in Punta Cana. Nice beach although we did not spend much time there. Big and safe pool for the adults and kids specially if they don't know how to properly swin. Staff was friendly, food was okay. Entertainment during day and at night was good.

Pros: Antonia Banderas is the best bartender in the DR!
Cons: Food options
Location: Did not travel off of the resort.
We stayed here for 3 nights for a friend's wedding. The staff was great!!! Had such a great time.

Very disappointing resort.

Pros: Not much.
Cons: Almost everything could be improved starting with the food.
Location: We booked golf with an Air Transat rep...terrible experience with Air Transat AND at the Punta Blanca golf course. Golf course itself was lovely.
I don't even know where to begin. In a nutshell, Cons, The food was terrible, the staff was not very helpful (with a few exceptions), rooms were run down, toilette clogged multiple times, when the air conditioning was on it smelled of mold in our room, lock on patio door was not locking properly, pillows were very uncomfortable: hard and lumpy and some of them smelled. Something I ate or drank made me sick for the last 3 days of my trip. Pros, Beach was beautiful, weather was fantastic and the pool was nice except for it being inconvenient to get to the swim up pool bar...if you were in the main pool you had to get out of the pool and get into the smaller pool right next to it to access the bar...terrible design.

Family wedding

The resort is in a nice location. Nice beach. The service in general is average and they need more training. The food was disappointing, there's a good selection but on average very bland. We went for a family wedding, there were approx 50 people. A number of people had gastro issues after eating at one particular restaurant at the resort. Overall not a bad stay but not good either. One of the highlights was my housekeeper for my room. She did a great job, i was very happy to tip her.

Nice Hotel Close to Beach

Pros: Friendly staff, not too large (easy to get to different parts of the hotel), not over crowded.
Location: This hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport. We walked along the beach and there are local shops to go in to.
Now Larimar is a great hotel - we spent 7 days here with a group and decided to upgrade to the preferred club. It is absolutely worth upgrading! We had a private check-in and had a concierge the whole time of our stay. There was another preferred club lounge near our room with a bar and food, and 2 preferred club pools (both with bars), as well as a place on the beach for preferred club members. Waiters would come around every 15 minutes or so to bring drinks. The food is good. Our favorite restaurant was Mercure, the French restaurant. The food here was amazing. The food at Bluewater was not impressive. Other than that it was a great trip and we enjoyed every bit of it.
