The manager provided good service. Friendly and accommodating. The room itself was from another era. The room was large and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was tiny! I prefer taking a bath over taking a shower. The bathroom was so tiny that it was difficult to close the door and when closed it was very claustrophobic. I couldn’t take a bath because the tub was very small. It was about 2/3 the size of a standard sized tub. There was no plug available, so filling the tub with water for a bath was impossible. Had it been possible, I wouldn’t do it because the cleanliness was suspect. I wore sandals in the tub when I showed. We bought cleaning products that contained bleach and sprayed and wiped everything, even the walls in the bathroom before we showed.
The carpet was also suspect and our bare feet never touched it. There was a small refrigerator and a microwave in the room but the freezer compartment of the refrigerator seemed to have never been defrosted, which reduced the space available to keep our perishables cold.
It’s ok for one night if you’re traveling and need to crash before resuming your journey, but for a multiple day/night stay, I’d stay in another motel if possible. Next time I’m in the area, I will definitely find different accommodations. As the old saying goes “you get what you pay for” and we did. Traveling on the cheap, sometimes pays off, in this case, it didn’t.
