We liked our room and amenities in general, sleepers would have been a good option. The pools were clean and the service at the pool and beach was excellent. We found the food to be pretty good but the drinks not so much. We had dinner at the Italian restaurant and the food was nice, the service was as bit slow, it felt understaffed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and probably be back.

Our second time here and didn’t disappoint. Booked a three bedroom residence for 5 adults. Each room was spacious and included a bathroom. Beautiful accommodation. Food and staff were excellent. Pool and beach area were great and the beach restaurant was our favorite to dine at. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

This was a 10/10 experience for our family trip to Mexico, and that’s all because of the Marival Distinct Resort! I had done my research and read so many reviews before I booked and I am so glad I didn’t listen to any of the naysayers. We travelled with our 5 year old daughter and she loved every pool, every wave crash on the beach, every meal, and every thoughtful activity the hotel and their amazing staff ran for the kids! Everything for the adults is wonderful as well! We loved how small, and quiet the resort is. We ate at every restaurant and even got to completely indulge at a true Mexican party they ran on the Tuesday night of our trip with a real and very talented Mariachi band! The spread at this event at its buffet dinner was unparalleled. I feel like we were let in on such a magical night and this was simply included for guests, in which all of the staff went above and beyond for! Our room was exactly like the pictures show, with an incredible ocean view and a massive balcony to enjoy. The housekeepers come every day while you are out to refresh the room and they are just so immaculately kept. We had read a few poor reviews that people had left about the sales pitch you get when you arrive, the walk to the beach, and the times at which food is served, and I will admit, I was worried going into this trip with those bad reviews in mind, but am I ever glad I didn’t listen!

Service was excellent particularly at the Insu Sky Bar. My sister accidentally left a white envelope that contained $200 (single dollar bills)USD at this restaurant. We left the restaurant and went to another bar at the same hotel. The staff from Insu was able to locate us and handed us the envelope, the money was all intact. Special shout out to our waiter Kevin. Amazing staff! Thank you!

Staff were not as friendly as I am used to. Food was barely average, long waits at dinner due to limited options. Also the transportation company the hotel connects you with are overly expensive and the wait times are long. Communication from the transportation company is also poor. Rooms were spacious and nice, tasting experiences were nice as well.

The property itself is beautiful, especially the new beach side. Nice to have the extra space with the "condo" style rooms, however very disappointed that there were not even the basic cooking/serving utensils in the room. I called down for a kettle and all they could give me was a pot to boil water in. Some of the items one would normally expect like daily coffee pod replenishment were not included. Overall the service levels and items included don't really match the cost of a stay here. Food was barely average and expected to be much better based on the way it is advertised. Stayed here about 10 years ago and at that time the food, service and ammenities were much better so expectations were high. This resort is quiet and compared to many other all inclusive options definitely higher end but improvements are necessary to compete for top marks.

The Marival Distinct was a nice getaway. It’s a good vacation spot for families with multiple children. Although most of the family activities geared for younger children are at Marival Emotions which require a short shuttle ride.

We had a wonderful time staying here for a week as a family of four. The staff is incredibly helpful and professional. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The food was really good especially for an all inclusive. Lots of great seafood and kid friendly options. The food can get a bit old after a few days considering there aren’t that many restaurants on site. We still liked it though and with young kids it was easier to stay on site than leave resort. You can go to their sister resort but we felt that Distinct was much higher quality than the sister resort, Emotions. There’s also a lovely walking/ biking path you can take from the resort to get some exercise. We would definitely come back again!

Marival is a fairly good hotel, clean and spacious. it used to be an adults only hotel, but now it's a family hotel, you can tell they're still not quite ready for kids. You need to walk to the beach,for me this is more a plus than a minus, it’s nice to walk if it’s not hot. Аbsolutely no entertainment, not even just live music, or a small club where you can dance when the children are sleeping. I felt like a very retired old man who just needed to get drunk and sleep in silence. I understand that the concept of this hotel is more calm and peaceful... and I support it. But!! The hotel has a huge area, which allows you to create at least one entertainment place, for example, at a restaurant on the beach, which can allow those who want to sleep to rest peacefully, and those who are cheerful to have fun a little longer. What’s most annoying!!! So this is that there is no one large permanent buffet where children can safely choose their food. What also surprised me is that the menu in all 4 restaurants is approximately the same. And on the third day, it begins to be very annoying. because the choice of dishes is quite small. and after a week it gets very boring. But I will say in defense that the quality of cocktails, alcohol and drinks is sooo good, it softens the situation:) especially for nervous parents. The hotel is good - but!! definitely not luxury. When I pay money for a luxury hotel, I expect the same selection of food, restaurants and service as in Riu or Hayat Ziva.

My wife and I loved our stay at Marival Distinct Residences. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We really liked the ocean view from most every room. The service was excellent everywhere. The food was mostly good, but feel free to pass on the upgraded "Angus Steaks" as they were not worth the additional cost. We would definitely go back here for a future Nuevo Vallarta trip. Thank you!

We came in 2019 and really liked the property. The quality is not there anymore. For the duration of 5 days didn’t get hot water in the shower even though brought this up every day. Every day at 4 am there was some construction going under our balcony. People, were digging, putting in cement, discussing it via radio, every morning at 4 am!!! Brought up to the front desk nothing was done. Food quality and selection for sure went down. We enjoyed the beach, water, amazing weather!!! Can’t recommend Puerto Vallarta enough especially during the winter months. We love it!

Great accommodations for a family. Service was not on par with other all inclusive resorts we have stayed at. Mini bar was not restocked daily, had to ask multiple times for drinking water in our room, reservations at onsite restaurants are not an option and meant waiting up to an hour to be seated at dinner if you did not arrive before opening.

This resort is by far the most stunning resort we’ve ever been to! The food is AMAZING! As are the drinks (both alcoholic and none alcoholic). Staff is friendly, feels very safe and it was a really fun family trip. The only down side is, there is nothing at alllll outside the resort. We always had to dine here and the wait times are long (for the kids). But as mentioned, the food was worth the wait! If you are planning to go to PV for a daily trip, expect to pay high fees (upwards of $150 CAD one way), and other unexpected incidentals are also very overpriced, so pack your aloe! Would love to come back, it really is incredible.

Have stayed at the Marival Residences 4 times previously, and each time upon returning home have sung its praises to my friends, telling them they have to try this place as it's the best all-inclusive I have been to. Unfortunately, I cannot say that anymore. I had not been there since before Covid, and the place is beginning to get a little old. Nothing serious -- just the little things around the property. For example, the mirrors in the rooms are peeling from age and condensation. The shower heads spray in all directions because they are blocked up with calcium. Nothing major -- just an overall lack of maintenance and upkeep over the years. This is an all-inclusive, so the food is "free", but we ate out at other restaurants 4 of our 7 nights (and paid) because the food is just not that good anymore. It used to be great. They need to address some management issues in their restaurants. On one night, approximately 30 people were waiting in line out in front of the beachside restaurant with no hostess in sight (I think they were afraid to face the crowd!). After about 30 minutes of standing around with no idea how long it would take to be seated, we just left. Again, small things but potentially irritating. On the positive side, the room sizes are great, the pools and the beach area are great, and most of the staff are great. This place could once again be a shining 5 star if they simply had better management. Until they fix that, it will be mired in the 3-4 star range.

This was out first time at Puerto Vallarta and staying at Marival Distinct made this trip enjoyable, pleasant. We traveled with a 3 and 5 year old and they also had fun with different activities. Everything was exceptional, service, food, house keeping, views, grounds, transportation. If you are going to Nuevo Vallarta Marival Distinct should be your first option.

It was hard for me to put down the money on Marival distinct as the opinion across internet was varied. But the fact is if I lookup any resort, the case is same. There would be atleast a small group of travelers who didnt like their experience. For me this was a great vacation. I went there on Christmas week but still the crowd was not crazy. The facility was kept clean. I never felt like I missed anything. Beach is not that far away and you get easy shuttle from lobby (personally I like that 5 mins walk through that beautiful landscape to beach). I would definitely come back. We were group of 5, 3 adults, 1 7yr old and 1 infant. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment which was well kept and house keeping was fantastic with daily service. My only feedback would probably be that our kitchen didnt have any utensils to do basic cooking. I had to get a boiling pot by calling house keeping. Apart from that everything was great. Restaurants were amazing too. Omaggio was a class apart. I really felt the luxury in Omaggio.

Traveled with wife and 2 toddlers ages 5 & 3. We couldn’t have asked for better stay. Room was large with laundry in unit which a big plus. Even though the property in not “beachfront,” they do have a nice, clean beach area just a 3-5 minute walk which is closer than many beachfront properties. Loved their beach area with friendly staff and beautiful coral sand. Pools were kid friendly and heated. Restaurants were good for all-inclusive with plenty of variety.
