Over the top, sprawling, sparkling resort. Setting is like a paradise. Private Palomino Island by ferry, Coqui Waterpark reached by funicular, Lazy River, 3 waterslides, half dozen swimming pools, hot tubs, bars, scheduled activities, games, entertainment, boutiques, golf course, restaurants, palatial bathrooms with soaking tubs. No expense was spared. Abundant personnel are friendly, eager to help. **Special shout out to Waterpark lifeguards, Roberto, Jean, Rey, Joel, Shaquille, Supv. Francesca for plucking my husband from pool after exiting a water slide face-down. Excellent coordinated effort with hand radios identifying swimmers at top of slides who might get in trouble.
Negs: Resort complex is so big, it can be difficult to find amenities like water park, ferry dock, gym. More and better signage needed, with maps. Also, it feels like you are being nickled and dimed--with $70 a day resort fee, why does it cost $15 a night to self-park? While the restaurant choices vary, menu prices are high, Entrees are upwards of $20-$30. Dining at poolside pub-style, personal pizza was $17, cocktails $12, beer $7. No other choice but to dine on site unless you have a car, drive to nearby Fajardo, pick up water, beverages for your room, but know outside food is prohibited. Maybe this is normal for resorts, I've never stayed at Disney World. Overall a positive visit, go at least one time just for the experience.
