Kurzer Familienaufenthalt

Pros: Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfbereitschaft des gesamten Personals und die ständig gepflegten Außenanlagen.
Cons: Unserer Meinung nach nein
Location: Vom Hotel am Rande Puerto Platas aus nahmen wir u. a. einen vorgeschlagenen Ausflug nach Ocean World mit Delphinschwimmen wahr, sehr zu empfehlen.
Der Aufenthalt diente für uns zur Entspannung und zum Besuch der Familie meiner Frau in Puerto Plata.

Beautifully Kept Hotel on the Beach

Pros: The place was immaculately maintained. The staff seemed to work round-the-clock with a smile and nice gesture for all of the guests.
Cons: The Mexican restaurant's food was lacking, as was the general energy in the place.The pool bartender was more interested in certain guests than others
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was nice and very large, the beach was beautiful, the activities were fun and led by staff who were engaging. The food and drink were plentiful and enjoyable. We particularly enjoyed the seafood bakes on the beach for lunch. I recommend the resort and highly recommend going to the Japanese restaurant for at least one of your a-la-carte dinners. The buffets are all extensive with foods from all over the world, clearly catering to a very diverse international clientele. The only noteworthy exception to an otherwise wonderful stay was that the weekend had the resort fill up with additional guests who were raucous and overtook certain bars entirely (namely the pool bar).

why I wouldn't go back

We went here to celebrate the new year with our two children, 7 yrs and 3yrs. The first 24 hours were great until New Year's Day lunch when we went to the lunch buffet. The floor was slippery with no caution sign. My 7 year old daughter slipped and the plate she was carrying slit open her knee. The resort and staff were fully aware as she had to get stitches at the insight clinic which was traumatic to say the least. My 3 year old ended up running 104 fever later that day. Luckily my husband had a longtime college friend who's family was well connected and had armed guards come and escort us to the hospital to ensure both children were 100%. (Another reason the hotel knew our situation, I'm quite certain that is not a every day occurrence). That being said no one reached out to us from the hotel ever. No one! We obviously could not enjoy any activities for the duration of our trip. I feel the hotel bares some responsibility and they knew it because the caution wet floor sign was up after my daughter's accident but not before. How could they not even check to see if she was ok or if there was anything they could do to try and make it right. Just a courtesy phone call would've been appreciated. I couldn't be anymore disappointed. Terrible experience!

Amazing vacation!

Pros: I loved the buffet and the beach..the service is amazing make sure you tip the guys there ..i noticed most people didn't which is not cool
Cons: The entertainment needs improvement..shows are little boring..maybe some local live music would be great..the people doing it are great!
Location: We stayed in the resort the whole trip
I spent 6 days in Iberostar puerto plata, It was really a good experience.The food in the buffet was better than in the restaurants which you have to reserve in advance.The food in the Brazilian restaurant was ok, the Japanese restaurant was like hibachi in the united states.Food nothing special , but might be good experience for the kids if they never had that experience.I skipped the Mexican restaurant .The buffet has fresh food everyday from fish to sea food , steaks ,and pork..good variety of food also fruits and desert.There restaurant open for food all day.The beach is great and so is the pool area.Unfortunately you have to get up before 7am to put a towel on a chair by the pool because most people are doing that even though there is a sign that says not allowed.The pool got a little crazy on the weekend since locals come in to the resort but the beach was great during weekend.The rooms are nice with balcony.The beds are ok, I would give a 5 star to this hotel if they had nice beds and sheets.Beach area has people from next door resort asking you to come visit theirs which is annoying and also people asking to go to gift shops walking distance from hotel on beach side.I recommend avoiding that .I went there and the guy wanted 240$ for a couple of bracelet and a towel worth maybe 20$.Better get that from hotel much cheaper.Also there were people there posing for pictures with guns.( not safe) don't bring any expensive perfume through customs in DR..they will take it

The food is absolutely terrible.

He hotel is clean and the beach and pool are very nice. The food is inedible, making the stay there great as long as you don't plan to eat.

Good family resort

Overall stay was very pleasant, staff was extremely courteous and friendly. Lots of activities for the whole family to do. Pool was great.

Lovely stay!

The hotel is great!! Hotel is kept clean, grounds are impeccable. The restaurants are great. Food was always delicious. Gained a few pounds thanks to the food. My 2 complaints 1: the rooms are dated. They MUST update the rooms, the bed is old and very uncomfortable! The hair dryer OH LORD soooo old! 2- the drinks. The liquor is very very cheap. I think they can uss better liquor and /or drinks. Overall great stay with my family.
