We enjoyed our stay as we do not expect modern facilities. Hotel and rooms very clean with basic facilities. No fridge or air conditioning. Good shower. Beds not to firm. The food eatable but was a disappointing consistency of choice(boring). Breakfast had continental which was a good selection. Cooked breakfast was basic with stone cold beans and the toaster was not up to the job. Pastries were very good. We enjoyed the roof pool area which has about 25 sun beds in three small section which also provided shade. The views were lovely of the coast and overlooking the square below. The town is not the place to come to if you want loud music bars. A relaxed place where eating out has a very good selection and you are amoungest the local population. The average age of visitors to the area is 40 plus. Overall a relaxing holiday.
"Hotel within reach of town, beach and bus station."
Buffet breakfast fine. Hotel in need of some improvements. Carpets threadbare in places, tiles in bathroom cracked or different shades of white. Paintwork in bedroom shabby. The hotel is in a great position and should make more of this!
"Pleasant position opposite church; helpful staff"
I was particularly grateful to the lady member of staff who helped us when we discovered that the battery in our hired car was flat. It was a great relief to have it recharged on the day before we set off for the South Airport. Our experience was very pleasant and we particularly enjoyed the swimming pool where again the staff were unobtrusively friendly and helpful. We were in the hotel at the time of the Fiesta on 3 May which was interesting if a little less exuberant than we'd expected. We celebrated our son's 50th birthday and he enjoyed sitting in the squares sketching and taking in the atmosphere.
On arrival we were given a studio room whereas we had booked a superior double overlooking the pool. The next day to his credit, the manager upgraded us to the suite in compensation. This room had an excellent view of the pool and the sea.
The hotel rooms are being refurbished and from the pictures I have seen they are very good. The suite has not yet been refurbished so was a little tired and run down. I am sure it will be outstanding when it has been refurbished.
The hotel is very quiet and the main visitors are from Germany. Everyone was friendly. Staff were excellent and could not do enough to help you out.
Location wise the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the sea and the old town centre. Lots to see and do in Puerto de la cruz. Great for walking. Not brilliant for lying on the beach due to poorer climate than the south of the island and the black volcanic beaches.
Stayed a few nights over new years with my wife.
We have stayed in a number of places in Tenerife and found this hotel to be above the Tenerife average for a Tenerife 4 star.
I found the cooked food in the restaurant good, but my wife eats mostly fresh bread, olives tomatoes etc.. And she says that stuff could have been fresher.
The hotel is within 15 mins from the centre centre and beach, but it is on a steep hill,
They are six flights of steps with shops along side and places to rest as you climb that you can use to get up the hill.
I found it a great way to work off all the food I was eating and enjoyed it.
But I am a person who never takes the elivator/lift when there are stairs available.
Pleasantly surprised with this hotel
It actually looks better than the photos
The freshness of the food attention to quality at the buffet was amazing.
The gym was huge and fully kitted out
The pool area was nicely laid out
And it was a comfortable walk to the beach
Tenerife’s longest established and most complete resort, “Puerto” offers bags of local colour as well as several top-class visitor attractions. Most famous is Loro Parque (Parrot Park), one of the finest wildlife-theme parks outside of Florida with world-class exhibitions of marine life, penguins, primates, and, of course, parrots. Sunbathers head to the flamboyantly landscaped Lago Martiánez lido, or the black-sand Playa Jardin beach.
