Hotel is a good mile + to the shore but there is a shuttle that takes you there though it doesn't operate for a good bit of the weekend. Hotel has stunning gardens you can walk through which seemed more beautiful to me than the nearby Tenerife Bontanical Gardens. There is a second beautiful pool area in the Spa section separate from the main hotel pool. We were allowed to use the thermal circuit of the Spa for free which included two types of saunas, a Turkish bath, an ice cave etc., and Jacuzzi & thermal pool. It also included a few free exercise classes (we only managed to make one), free use of 18 hole putting green and tennis courts. We sprung for the extra fee to have an ocean view and it was well worth it. From our balcony we felt like we were on a cruise ship docked at port and saw stunning views and were able to capture beautiful sunset pictures and even amazing photos from which you could sea the surf when the waves were high. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Everyone seemed truly committed to making your experience outstanding. The hotel doesn't skimp. Saturday & Sunday they even made champagne available with the breakfast buffet. The buffet had a wide variety of foods to cater pretty much to every international visitor's breakfast routine. If you take the shuttle downtown and get away from the main roads, you'll find extremely reasonable pricing on souvenirs. We also found the same at a couple stores closer to our hotel.
Outside space good.Restaurant offered wide choice. Room comfortable but some drying space for wet clothes would be appreciated. It seemed unfair that men in shorts were not allowed in the restaurant for dinner but women in short shorts were! Overall, we had a pleasant stay.
As a single woman traveller I had a great stay. I found the hotel staff welcoming, helpful and efficient. A small problem with the shower was fixed within minutes of my reporting it. My room was a good sized double room looking out onto a quiet back street with pleasant balcony. The hotel is spotlessly clean and recently re-decorated with a contemporary feel. I found the food in the restaurant offered a wide choice with good variation over the week. The waiters were polite and helpful. I used the lagoon type pool and sat out in the gardens when it was not too cool. This hotel is ideal for couples or singles wanting a quiet break... it is away from the noise of the centre of town with good sports facilities and excellent public transport links nearby. Walking into the centre takes about 15 minutes going down but longer coming up... the hotel is situated uphill from the main town. The wifi worked well in the reception area but not in individual rooms. I enjoyed my 9 days and felt relaxed and chilled at the end of my stay. This is the sixth time I have stayed at this hotel and look forward to returning.
From the first, the hotel was welcoming. Our apartments were spacious and regularly cleaned. Because the hotel was full we were unable to get the views requested and although our balconies were small, they were sufficient to relax in. There were plenty sunbeds. Richard the activities manager was great and there was plenty on offer. We would definitely return. Restaurants were within 10 minutes walk and we got used to the hill. Having a small supermarket next to the hotel was also helpful and water could be bought from within the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay as we do not expect modern facilities. Hotel and rooms very clean with basic facilities. No fridge or air conditioning. Good shower. Beds not to firm. The food eatable but was a disappointing consistency of choice(boring). Breakfast had continental which was a good selection. Cooked breakfast was basic with stone cold beans and the toaster was not up to the job. Pastries were very good. We enjoyed the roof pool area which has about 25 sun beds in three small section which also provided shade. The views were lovely of the coast and overlooking the square below. The town is not the place to come to if you want loud music bars. A relaxed place where eating out has a very good selection and you are amoungest the local population. The average age of visitors to the area is 40 plus. Overall a relaxing holiday.
"Hotel within reach of town, beach and bus station."
Buffet breakfast fine. Hotel in need of some improvements. Carpets threadbare in places, tiles in bathroom cracked or different shades of white. Paintwork in bedroom shabby. The hotel is in a great position and should make more of this!
The hotel staff were helpful and the room was fine for what we paid. Probably 3 star rather than 4 star and mostly Spanish holiday makers at the hotel with a few Germans and Brits. Plenty of sunbeds and decent pools.
Food is okay - buffet with lots of choice of "international" staples e.g. pasta, chips, grilled meat/fish, paella with some themed evenings.
Drinks expensive if you aren't all inclusive.
Reception staff helpful. Wifi a bit variable and you can't always get on in the evenings when busy.
Electrics in our room a bit dodgy.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and it was very good value for money.
Tenerife’s longest established and most complete resort, “Puerto” offers bags of local colour as well as several top-class visitor attractions. Most famous is Loro Parque (Parrot Park), one of the finest wildlife-theme parks outside of Florida with world-class exhibitions of marine life, penguins, primates, and, of course, parrots. Sunbathers head to the flamboyantly landscaped Lago Martiánez lido, or the black-sand Playa Jardin beach.
