Great location and very delicious but expensive breakfasts. Room was not very clean especially the bathroom. Elevator was not working either. Staff very nice.
We have stayed here at least 10 times pre pandemic. It has always been excellent. This time was very different. The main entrance to the hotel has been maintained well but once in the lift to reach the bedrooms it is very much a different matter. The lift is extremely shabby with torn wall paper on the inside. The carpets on the hallways
/ passages and bedrooms are badly stained. Our wardrobe glass was dangerously broken. The bedside lamp was broken. Our friends had the heavy glass wardrobe door fall on them causing significant arm bruises. There was no recompense fir this damage. The bedding was excellent as is the location. Will not be staying here again unless they have a complete make over.
Great location near the plaza. Very clean room, plenty of space for 2 people. Helpful staff at the front desk. Easy walk (or short taxi - like 6 EUR) to train station.
We only stayed one night. Booked standard double, that was very spacious. Our floor/room was updated versus the one our friend stayed in on lower floor. Parking is nearby and easy enough. Location is excellent for exploring the city on foot.
Perfect location to explore Girona. Delicious buffet breakfast. Great biking hotel tho a little difficult to get bike in elevator to take to bike garage.
Overall a decent stay. Rooms are clean and functional, more three star than four. Checkin was efficient as was checkout. Great location and close to all of the sights and restaurants. The AC was not working however was fixed within a few hours.
The hotel was waking distance to most attractions I visited
such as the Cinema Museum. There was a restaurant for my dining needs on the hotel premises.
Fab little hotel in a very central location.
All the staff were so welcoming and professional.
Found the beds & pillows to be super comfy.
Will use as our base to visit family from now on.
We stayed in this hotel before transferring to another hotel that was the base for our bike tour. I was pleasantly surprised how much I like this hotel. The room was much quieter than at the other hotel, and I liked that the stairs were easily accessible. The location is awesome and the lobby was good for reading or getting organized for the day. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was expensive so we did not partake, but it looked good.
We have nothing but good things to say about the Hotel Ciutat de Girona. Firstly, it is perfectly situated just steps away from the iconic iron bridge leading to the Old Town. The entire hotel was spotless, modern, efficient. Staff was helpful. For early risers, it offers a generous breakfast buffet that is available well before most cafes open at 9 a.m. The 15 Euro price may seem high but is in fact comparable to other places in Girona where we ate in the morning.
The young lady at the desk was especially helpful. I arrived at 10am and she held my luggage until check in at 2:00.
The following day, I asked her to hold my luggage, again, as my ride out was not until 5pm. She was very kind, as was the housekeeper, Suzanne, and the rest of the staff.
Female reception staff not very friendly
Didn’t always acknowledge you on arrival or departure
Hotel took eco friendly slightly too far they provided tea and coffee in the room but no
milk as containers where plastic
We asked for milk from the restaurant the manager wasn’t very happy stated business separate from hotel
We felt eco friendliness took over customer comfort and taken a little too far
