Great hotel for it's view, the architecture, the rooms. Found staff a bit cold, not as friendly as other hotels we stayed at during our trip. Location in Princeville leaves you quite a way from the part of Kauai where most of the "action" is; not a major problem, but means time wasted sitting in traffic (there's really only one road to the south) when you want to take any trips, etc.
The little time we were in our room, it was spacious and perfect for entertaining guests at dinner. We were conveniently located to the golf course, ocean views and a marketplace. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to Kauai!!! Absolutely beautiful area, courteous/helpful staff!

It was a great room for a family. Everything was clean. We had a room with an ocean view and we were also able to see the mountains a little bit. It was nice and quiet. The pool could have had a little bit more of a shallow end, it was all 4 ft deep. It would have been nice to have a deep end and shallow end for the little ones. Parking was hard to find, if you got back late. Otherwise everything was great. No complaints, I would stay there again.
The location can't be beat. Cliffside, walkout units looking down to the ocean, turtles feeding, view of Hanalei Bay and north coast, sunsets, etc. Quiet, birds, paved path to private beach hard to find in this area. Beach, a mix of volcanic black rock and sand, is actually nicer than the St Regis one, which is public. Very good restaurant on site.
Absolutely stunning view, very comfortable, nice kitchen but we were only allowed to use 2 of 4 burners on the stove which made dinner a bit of a chore. The hike down to the beach is a bit of hike and that beach wasn’t that great so we had to drive and carry all our stuff which was also a bit of hassle. Also, hauling out all our trash and recycling the day we left was kind of a drag too. Total 1st world issues, I know, and I feel like a jerk for mentioning them but I guess we are spoiled rotten and are just used to room service and a beach right outside our door.
