Great spot for a family gathering
We needed a space for two families with adult and teen children, and the Federal Twist house was perfect. The kitchen and bathrooms were updated and very functional, and the common areas were comfortable and conducive to family gatherings. The house is close to the towpath and some other hiking areas. We would definitely stay here again!

Thanksgiving with a Twist
The Federal Twist House is everything that is stated and more. The home is immaculate, beautifully appointed, with beautiful views, and a fully stocked kitchen for cooking and hosting others. Our family really enjoyed our 3 days over the Thanksgiving weekend with plenty of space and privacy for all. I would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return again. Ty Molly!

Perfect Get-away
We, as well as our children (3 over 20 and 1 under 4) , really enjoyed staying at The Federal Twist. We all enjoyed watching the deer in the evening, the fox that graced the woods, and the animals (cow, burros) across the street really added to our enjoyment. It was the perfect accommodation. We all found it to be a beautiful place and one of the best that we have stayed in globally! Thank you for making this a perfect getaway for our family!

Charming Home
We stayed several days over our wedding celebration weekend. The property was simply charming and had all the space and amenities needed for a family with children, general adults and older family members. We had a wonderful time staying and exploring the different parts of the home, patio and surrounding areas. Sadly, our weekend was cut short by a wedding night storm and major power outage, which in addition to the lights, air conditioning and the refrigerator, also eliminated the entire water supply to the home, including showers, toilets and faucets. It lasted from 9pm Saturday to an eventual 4pm the following day, so there was no possibility for our large group to stick it out with no restroom use. All of our food spoiled in the fridge overnight and our post wedding family brunch at the house was cancelled due to the lack of power and water/ spoiled food. The owner addressed the unexpected issue with grace and we were truly sad to have to vacate early. I believe a new generator has been installed since the incident (the small generator in place at the time failed, which was my only gripe-it should have been routinely tested and could have saved our wedding weekend), so hopefully our “story” will not be a repeat and everyone moving forward will get to enjoy the home as much as we did. Just a bit of bad luck and bad timing in our case. We would definitely consider an anniversary stay to “re-do” the weekend. Wonderful for large groups and get togethers. A memorable stay!

Hi Rachael, Thank you for staying at our house. Again, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience that the power outage caused. As soon as I realized there was an issue, I called the electrician and he was there until 11:30pm Saturday. He determined it was from a brown out, which destroyed the transfer switch, and there was nothing else that could be done. It was not from a faulty generator, which is routinely tested every 2 weeks.

We were in the area for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Federal Twist House. The house is stunning, spacious and well-appointed. Molly was a wonderful host and was extremely communicative. She even helped us with a caterer for a small family dinner. An all around gem!

Fantastic House
This is the perfect house for a group getaway. The house is beautiful, spacious, and well equipped with everything you could need. Very close to New Hope and Lambertville and all of the shops and restaurants there. Eat at Nektar it is amazing! The tow path and trails along the river are great for hiking/walking. But even with all that, we found ourselves going back to the house and enjoying the gigantic back patio and the beautiful views. (FYI - There is a great wine store in Stockton, just 5 minutes down the road) Molly, the host, was super helpful with everything. She called to check on us when very bad storms came through. And the house's handy generator kicked right in when the power went out. Highly recommend a visit here. We are already talking about going back.

2022 Army Navy Game
Fabulous stay in a beautiful and charming house. Our West Point cadet and his girlfriend were able to drive down Friday afternoon and stay with us both before and after the game, and our daughter and her boyfriend were able to do the same driving in from CT. Location was perfect, house was as described and wonderful, and the host was super responsive and helpful. We are already looking for an excuse to come back to this area and explore the charming nearby towns.

My daughter and her friends stayed here for a “Bucks County Weekend” prior to her bridal shower in New Hope. They loved the property and raved about the outside patio which they were able to enjoy due to the unseasonably warm weather! A great experience overall.

Beautiful home in great location!
This is a beautiful home on lots of land. We had a small gathering for my mothers 90th birthday. There was adequate room for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking supplies. It was nice the fridge had condiments also. The bedding was very comfortable. The vineyard next door was really nice. It was fun to walk over and listen to the bands. The wine was great too! We would absolutely return. Molly had great communication throughout our stay and left great information about a nearby walking bridge back across to PA.

Family Celebration During Covid
Our family has been very conservative during Covid, wanting to stay as safe as possible. However, we have a tradition of gathering in the spring to celebrate several family birthdays, including my husband’s. this year we picked The Federal Twist House and enjoyed it enormously. We had lovely spring weather which meant we were able to enjoy the patio which isn’t always possible in March, There was an infestation of lady bugs in two of the bedrooms which apparently happens every year. Be aware that that might happen in March, our granddaughters just slept downstairs, No worries,

Lovely, though a little remote, site and historic, tastefully rennovated large home
A pleasant respite from the madness of graduation festivities at a not to far distant university, the home offered temperate, attractive accommodation for a largish family group. We were able to cook meals for 12 in the two stoves, and breakfasts on the usual appliances. Almost all of the beds were comfortable -- one mattress had a long-term memory of a very large person. The architecture of the renovations and modern accommodations within the 18th century shell were done with grace and thoughfulness, and lacked for nothing. Wifi was great throughout, so everone stayed in touch with the outside world as they saw fit. TV's were a computing generation ahead of what I know to operate, so I missed some French Open that I would have like to have seen --- on the other hand I did not chase down the tech expertise that might be needed to work them. Our guests all expressed delight in the home and its comforts and siting.

Great Weekend Getaway for 8 Adults
My friends and I (8 adults in total) stayed at the Federal Twist house for a long holiday weekend. It was the perfect place: old farm house charm, beautifully restored, modern updates, plenty of space to gather and also to separate for some quiet time. There's a large gathering room with a great fireplace with a table seating 10 comfortably, a sizeable stocked kitchen, plenty of beds and bathrooms. Additionally it's a 10 minute drive to Stockton, 15 min to New Hope and Lambertville! Plenty of parking and also just up the hill from a winery. It really checks a lot of boxes. The host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. 5 Stars!

I arranged for my sister's family -who all live in the Boston area, and included her son and daughter, their spouses, a two-year old and an 8 month old - to stay at the house for holiday get together. The house is huge and has so much character and charm, and was equipped with everything they needed to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable. Great house for a family reunion
We booked this house for a large family gathering just after Christmas. It was ideal for our needs--plenty of bedrooms, a large kitchen, and a big dining table. The house is lovely, with tasteful updates to a historic property. Only thing I'd mention (though it didn't impact our group much) is to be careful with the stairways for young kids and older folks with mobility issues.

WOW-one of the best places I’ve stayed!
All I can say is WOW! Everything about this house was incredible. It’s huge, charming, beautiful, impeccably clean, and perfectly laid out. It keeps the charm of its history while offering every modern amenity. We stayed with a group of 6 adults and we had plenty of room. We loved the covered back patio, the huge dining room, and the cozy sitting rooms. The bedrooms were beautiful and really comfortable, and enough beds for 6 friends. The area is beautiful too, and has tons to do. We’re grateful for a wonderful getaway, and would love to return!

Picturesque, beautiful, spacious and clean home on a gorgeous property. The photos do not do this listing justice. We absolutely loved our stay and hope to come back. Conveniently located across from a vineyard that makes amazing wines. It was perfect for our girls weekend! We rented this house for my sons birthday and it did not disappoint one bit. Pictures do not do justice to how amazing this house is. Clean, huge and perfectly furnished. Bathrooms are newly done. The house has been beautifully restored and updated. The details are appropriate for a house of its age, but it has all the modern conveniences. The kitchen is well equipped and functional. The gas fire was lovely to have on winter days. The house easily fit our group of five adults and three kids. At quiet time everyone had their own space. The dining table was large enough for us to gather for meals and games.

Winter getaway
We absolutely loved this old farmhouse. It was cozy and spacious for 6 adults and 7 kids. Plenty of room for the kids to play outside and explore the country. Weekend Gathering for Wedding Party + Welcome Event
When my husband and I decided to go through with our wedding (on a much smaller scale due to COVID - 35 people in total) at a local venue, a lot of things we had already planned out had to change and many considerations had to take place. For one, the guest list had to shrink by 75%. We could no longer use the venue we had booked for a rehearsal/welcome dinner event due to indoor restrictions and no outdoor space. Many of our group didn’t feel comfortable staying in a hotel. A LOT of stuff became DIY as multiple vendors shuttered their businesses or were working with reduced staff/hrs. Molly and her property solved all of these problems. The room descriptions/capacity were accurate - we and our wedding party (12 in total) stayed at the house quite comfortably. She let me and my husband in a few hours early so that we could get things set up for our guests (flowers and gift bags in all the rooms, sanitation stations around the house) and use it as a home base as we ran last-minute errands in the area. When we asked if we could use the space for our welcome event, observing COVID indoor restrictions, she was quick to respond, offering single-use towels in the bathrooms and even inviting us to view the outside of the property for set-up and tent considerations. The house was huge, gorgeous, well-located, private, and stocked with all of the essential toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, qtips, makeup remover pads, hairdryers!) making it great place for our wedding party to get ready the day of. We ended up purchasing an additional night just to unwind, which was so easy to do at this well-maintained property. There is ample gravel lot parking and space to run around outside with picturesque views of the vineyard across the street. It was easily the least stressful part of the whole weekend. :) Molly answered multiple calls and questions throughout our stay and was so incredibly understanding when in our breakdown and packing up of everything, my parents accidentally took her Bose speaker and her cornhole set, thinking they were my brother’s (he set up everything up on Friday, they broke everything down on Sunday)! Luckily my parents are local and we quickly arranged for the return, but Molly’s understanding of how chaotic and how many moving parts we had that weekend made the whole thing a lot less embarrassing. :) I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here, and I would love to again (under less chaotic circumstances). This recently renovated farmhouse is spacious, cozy and just a few feet for the Delaware River. We've really enjoyed our time here and Molly is a responsive, conscientious host who is a pleasure to communicate with. New Year's Family Reunion 2019
Perfect spot for a family reunion -- bucolic setting, close to cultural sites, dining, tourism, shopping. House itself is ideal combination of modern amenities and truly historic architecture unique to this 18th century home. Accommodated our 11 family members comfortably, with rooms for all of us to gather (especially around the wonderful huge dining room table) or to enjoy privacy, as desired. Molly was great to deal with - very responsive, kind, and generous. Would love to return next year....
