The hotel is very nice and I think it has great facilities. It is close to the motorway which is a plus. It was a little confusing with the price of breakfast. It was £17.50 for adults and I don't think that the price should have been that much considering the breakfast on offer. Other then that it was a good experience. I recommend a stay.
Friendly, efficient check in and welcome. The hotel is set in a quiet location with extensive grounds. I stayed only one night on a business trip, but would definitely consider going back for a weekend break..
"The staff was so friendly, polite, professional. "
From the minute my daughter (aged 20) arrived on the Saturday, we were made to feel welcome and our custom valued. We were having a spa treatment here on the mothers day so I decided to make a weekend of it and booked us in for the weekend. Arrived just after 3pm, so easy to find the hotel as just 5 minutes from the motorway. The entrance to the grounds of the hotel gave us an idea of the environment we were about to spend our weekend, lovely. It was quite busy at reception when we checked in as there was a wedding party just having their photos taken outside at the front, I commented how lovely and special it would be to have a wedding and function here. The staff were all so friendly and it was clear the staff all seemed very happy to be working there. Our room was lovely as I expected,. After booking our evening meal, we went for a swim in the hotel pool. The lighting and atmosphere was so relaxing. The evening meal, beautiful, restaurant staff very professional and friendly. Booked and paid for breakfast when we had arrived, it was a refreshing change not having to rush around on the Sunday morning as breakfast is served until 11am. Didn't need to eat again till dinner when we arrived home. My daughter had a manicure at the spa I had a facial which relaxed me so much. This was the best mother''s day I have ever had with my lovely daughter. And this is how I will spend every mother day until she becomes a mother herself. I would like to add the WiFi was free..
The hotel grounds are beautiful. The staff are lovely The décor could probably do with an uplift but there was a homely feel about the hotel which was nice. In the evening we ate in the bar, which was spacious and quiet and suited us particularly because we could have our dog with us. The breakfast was superb, a much higher standard than you ever get in a corporate hotel. Before leaving we had a walk in the surrounding countryside, didn't meet a soul, and left feeling very relaxed indeed.
There was one fly in the ointment but it wasn't the fault of the hotel. I had booked and paid online and when we arrived the booking had been made for one person, not two as we wanted and the cost of the room differed from the amount we had paid. This meant quite a lot of waiting around while the problem was sorted out and then we had to be put in a family room (which was very nice) instead of the twin room we had requested.
What a great find! I hope I impressed upon the management and staff how pleased I was with everything! From the welcome, the room, new sheets, lovely bathroom, nice and cosy in the worst weather! The lovely home cooked food! The fantastic staff! I would not hesitate to return. Thank you for making g a difficult weekend so much easier!
Once a thriving mill town, Preston has felt the pinch of de-industrialization like much of the northeast. The city is peppered with beautiful old buildings including the Harris Museum and St John's Minster. The River Ribble runs through the south of the city, where the old docks are undergoing regeneration. A little further up the Ribble is Brockholes: a nature reserve with bird-watching hides.
