i had a beautiful view of mont blanc(?) from my room/balcony. there was rain during my entire visit so my original plans of hiking had to be cancelled, however the kind concierge gave me plenty of activity options. the hotel provided a complimentary transit pass for the chamonix bus which came to be very convenient. i had wonderful stay. thank you to all staff at the croix blanche!

Great hotel for the couple of nights before our TMB hike. Good location in central Chamonix, close to pedestrian area and restaurants. Short walk from the bus station. The only thing that annoyed me was that even though I had completed their pre arrival survey and told them we would be arriving by noon after a red eye transatlantic flight, we could not check in until 3pm - they actually told us our room was one of the last to be cleaned and ready.

Very dated. My room looks it hasn’t been updated since the sixties. Very load at night with numerous bars outside open late. Reception staff are excellent and a very good breakfast.

The lady at reception on our last day was amazing. We were at the front of the hotel so very noisy late into the night, the view was amazing though! If you love oldie world creaky floors, this will fit the bill.

charming chamonix hotel -perfect base for skiing
This hotel Is well located in central Chamonix in an old fashioned chalet. My bedroom is comfortable & comes at a budget price. There is a comfortable library with a fireplace & travellers can also rest in the front lounge In woodsy, country style . Staff are polite & helpful . Upon checkin, I received free gift of a glass water tumbler. The tumbler will prove useful at work. Complimentary hot chocolate, tea & coffee is available from an auto serve machine at front level. An elevator is available in this hotel & a great convenience as my luggage is very heavy. This hotel provides rental surface & storage service for ski equipment for guests. Buffet breakfast is served in its dining room adorned with sheepskin rugs on its wooden chairs & photographs of Mont blanc on its walls. Overall, I will recommend this hotel to all travellers to Chamonix .

This was a nice cosy old fashioned sort of hotel. Not the sort of cookie cutter place you find at every highway interchange in Canada and the US. The staff were very welcoming

Central and Very Friendly
The hotel is in a perfect location for everything. It was just a short walk to rent skis, get the bus to the slopes, enjoy aprês ski, and choose from the many restaurants in Chamonix. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the stay very pleasant. They had a coffee machine and water filter available at all times. They gave us a souvenir water bottle to refill instead of using plastic bottles, which I especially appreciated. The rooms and facilities are very clean. My only disappointment was the breakfast service. It ran from 7:00-10:30 and often ran out of key items before 8:30 - such as the delicious croissants and scrambled eggs. Better supply management would be appreciated by this not-so-early riser.

This hotel was roomy, the staff were accommodating and friendly, the breakfast was very nice with homemade orange juice and the view was amazing. The only negative was the poor wifi in our room. We got stronger hotel wifi across the street at the Irish Coffee Pub. Otherwise, it’s a fabulous place to stay.

Great Hotel...Great Location!!
Great hotel in the heart of main street blvd. Old style decor and furnishing fitting to the setting. Cozy rooms, clean, great firm beds. Hotel has a bar and restaurant. Breakfast for $14€. Ski rental just downstairs from hotel entrance at great pricing. 20% discount on rental equipment with hotel reservation. I would recommend and stay again on my next visit

I stayed in this same place 11 years ago and it was great then. Doesn't seem like continual maintenance is done on the property. Shower stall was very moldy and peeling at the seams, literally. On the plus side, the beds were very comfy with sheets, which was very nice just coming off the TMB. The balcony over the town was a nice touch, and the breakfast was the BEST and most complete of anywhere we stayed in over 5 hotels and all the huts around the TMB. Very friendly and helpful staff and bilingual.

Fantastic location! Great restaurant! Outstanding views! Needs renovation or at least paint. Young female desk worker was very friendly and helpful! Older man was unsmiling and curt to females. Dark hallways,excellent parking space. Recommended with with reservations. We had a great time anyway.

We had an unusual experience at La Croix-Blanche in that a pipe had just burst on the floor where we were to stay, so we were put in another hotel for the night. That being said, Valentin, the La Croix-Blanche employee who took care of us, went way out of his way to walk us, helping with the luggage, to the other hotel, which was across town. He couldn't have been more helpful, and we were grateful, in spite of the inconvenience to us.

Central location but a bit worn out
We were very lucky to get the room last minute. The room was very big, but the hotel was somewhat older and not renovated. The furniture could be better positioned so that it’s more user friendly. The breakfast selection was great.

A good choice for a week's skiing
Very good location. Pleasant helpful staff. Good atmosphere. Comfortable. Clean. Some areas rather worn. Probably could do with refurbishment soon. WiFi coverage a bit hit or miss.

Good .. but could be so much better
The staff at the hotel are lovely.. the hotel is spotless.. location is really convenient to the town.. However really needs an update in decor.. I like the French traditional vintage.. but wouldn’t take much to get rid of the drabness.. our shower was not fit for purpose unless you are 3ft tall .. MOST IMPORTANTLY NO SPRINKLER..SMOKE ..FIRE SYSTEM AT ALL!! AND NO OTHER FIRE ESCAPE OTHER THAT THE STAIRS.. I was on the 3rd floor because of its location it could be noisy at night .. drunk people walking though the square at 3 and 4 in the morning.. but I would stay again but not at the top

Good central location
A very central 3-star facility, fine base for my skiing with a friend. Somewhat dated, needing to kneel in the bath to have a shower due to eaves and no head height, but warm and fresh towels each day. Didn’t eat on site as plenty variety nearby. Quite noisy at night due to location but that was expected. Friendly staff, useful ski locker room, sketchy wi-fi.

The hotel is in a fantastic location. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. I was unwell during my stay and one staff member phoned around trying to find a doctor for me and offered to take me to one was really kind. The rooms are a bit dated though. With a renovation or refurbishment this hotel would be absolutely amazing.
