"Superb, clean and tidy, I had an issue where I was ill and my initial booking was moved by a very helpful member of staff think it was Connor so special shout out to him. Car park was great too as it was locked securely behind a gate after closing time until morning. Overall a very nice place to stay."

"My room was clean and tidy when I arrived. The lady on reception was very helpful and efficient when I checked in. On leaving the next morning the two staff were again very pleasant even though it was 3.30am."

"Great location at the heart of Carlisle and close to cathedral and castle, perfect for sightseeing. Lovely to stay in a historic hotel that’s beautifully maintained and looked after. Gorgeous high ceilings, stained glass, marble and wood panelling, so much better than modern hotels where everything is plastic. Perfect for a weekend break."

"This property was pretty much all that we needed for our stay. Everything about it was perfect for us. The room was exceptionally clean as were the public areas. From the moment of checking in until we left the whole visit was perfect. The person at reception informed us that they had to only recently taken over the property and it was obvious that they are doing some fantastic upgrading work to the rooms as well as the public areas. It is a lovely venue and I would highly recommend it."
